Medieval Fayre The Ludlow Medieval Christmas Fayre at Ludlow Castle has been described as ‘the best medieval show in the land’ and it’s certainly an opportunity to ‘step back in time’. Held over the November 29/30th weekend, with late night finishing on the Saturday, you could spend two days steeped in history. Smoke and fire enactment added to the drama and both days were full of entertainment throughout the castle. Drama, music, hurdy-gurdys, puppetry, jugglers, dancing, storytellers and giants took people back to a bygone age. Great

fun, lots of opportunity to join in, and with over 100 stalls selling wares, crafts, food and drink it was easy to fill the time and you could also come away with some unusual gifts! Pleasant weather, especially on the Sunday, must have encouraged the crowds to turn out, but the relative warmth did nothing to quench enthusiasm for trying the mulled wines and hot spicy punches. This is certainly an event with a difference, and equally certainly it’s an event that’s well worth a visit. Roll on next year!
