PROF. ROBERT BRUHNS FULL-SEMESTER SOLO PROJECT design for a mixed-use project on a large site that combines a complex program with a number of interesting urban site conditions in Greenville, S.C. the scheme combines a large train station, retail units, and housing. the main driving concept is the focus on a monolithic train station. representing the train and industry, the building composes of heavy concrete and steel use.

GRADUATE RESEARCH CENTER

ARCH FOUNDATIONS

PROF. LYNN CRAIG HALF-SEMESTER SOLO PROJECT The graduate research center is a large program project for wind turbine research that is located at the Navy Yard in Charleston, S.C. there are several driving ideas for the design concept. The heavy concrete and steel represent the past monolithic presence of the Navy that is no longer present in the area since the 1980s. Secondly the pushing and pulling of the floor plans represent the massive docks that site on the water’s edge found in the aerial photos.
