Teddy Teece Managing Partner of KEA Capital Partners (KCP) Teddy Teece is the Managing Partner of Kea Capital Partners (KCP), an investment firm that links international capital with New Zealand's light industrial sector. As an entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist, he has developed companies across finance, technology, executive coaching, and real estate. Across these areas, his work has focused on connecting purpose, profit, and planet while addressing global, overlooked, or distinct market inefficiencies and problems. With five generations of family ties to New Zealand and an early life spanning two hemispheres and both coasts, Teddy developed a global entrepreneurial outlook alongside a commitment to service. These experiences continue to influence his present-day work. He supports discerning, long-term & lifestyle oriented investors who seek financial returns while developing stronger connections to New Zealand and contributing to the country's economy, environment, and infrastructure.
Building Bridges Between New Zealand and Global Capital As Founder & Managing Partner of KCP, Teddy directs acquisition strategies throughout the ‘golden triangle,’ concentrating on light industrial sectors. The firm's approach focuses on acquiring, growing, and consolidating established and dependable businesses that remain
important to the country's infrastructure. Through KCP, he is raising capital from families and investors who want to establish residency in New Zealand while contributing meaningfully to the country and its economy. During his first year at Wharton’s Executive MBA, Teddy incubated KCP’s business plan and thesis. This process focused on establishing robust advisory relationships, developing a stress-tested business plan, and identifying a timely opportunity. KCP now provides a unique geopolitical insurance product for people who are attentive to macro-economic uncertainties and see NZ’s position as one of the world’s safest and most stable countries to reside & invest in as an increasingly compelling value proposition. He developed an investment model that combines traditional private equity and search fund approaches with local partnerships, community-based events, and philanthropic opportunities. The resulting platform serves investors who value financial outcomes as well as quality of life.
From Entrepreneurial Operator to Investment Leader Before establishing KCP, Teddy worked in several capacities across a range of sectors. He served as Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer of an investment bank, helping build the organization during a period of rapid early growth while processing eight- and nine-figure transactions. Before entering finance, Teddy co-founded a marketplace centered on unique experiences. He developed the venture through an incubator while forming deep partnerships with world-renowned providers. His experience also expanded into family business consulting, where he co-founded a family-business advisory practice within a global consulting firm. In this capacity, he supported global business families, executives, and next-generation leaders across the United States, the Middle East, and New Zealand. He designed leadership programs and assessment tools for (family) business teams while providing strategic succession planning for multinational firms. During the same period, he contributed to leadership development programs involving executives from major international alliances, helping (future) leaders develop both personal and professional capabilities.
Creating Value Beyond the Balance Sheet Alongside his experience in finance, travel technology, and consulting, Teddy Teece quietly developed a non-profit & executive coaching center. A true Kiwi, he has taken a practical role in the property as well, personally building a number of its features and leading teams as a general contractor. Teddy continues to dedicate time, energy, and resources to developing and maintaining this sanctuary as an incubator of sorts. Service, belonging, DIY, and wellbeing remain core tenets of the environment. He seeks to reflect these values through partnerships and service to charities. He sits on the advisory board of a foundation alongside Medal of Honor recipients and has
supported Navy SEAL families through this organization since 2017. In addition, he has helped raise six- and seven-figure sums for various charities.
Advocacy, Service, and Community Impact Teddy believes that many of the challenges facing society today require stronger local communities, greater personal resilience, and much more open dialogue about the changing world order. His involvement in these areas includes active participation in dialogue with a chamber in San Francisco.
Scholarship, Athletics, and Personal Development Teddy is an Executive MBA candidate at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.
A Long-Term View of Leadership Today, Teddy works alongside an NZ-based team of seasoned business leaders while dedicating time and resources to charitable organizations. Outside these responsibilities, he spends time working the land, writing, drumming, and adventuring. Whether he is helping investors identify opportunities or developing businesses, his focus remains on creating organizations and communities intended to endure for decades. Teddy Teece continues to center his work on stewardship and service. His approach reflects the view that true success develops through long-term, aligned partnerships and a strong sense of shared purpose, with an emphasis on building organizations, relationships, and communities that can create lasting value.
