Teddy Teece is the Managing Partner of Kea Capital Partners (KCP), an investment firm that connects international capital with New Zealand’s light industrial sector. As an entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist, he has founded and grown businesses across finance, technology, executive coaching, and real estate. Throughout his career, he has focused on aligning purpose, profit, and planet while addressing market inefficiencies and overlooked opportunities.

Drawing on five generations of family ties to New Zealand and a dual-hemisphere, bi-coastal upbringing, he combines an international perspective with a commitment to service. These experiences continue to shape his work today as he helps long-term and lifestyle-oriented investors pursue financial returns while building stronger connections to and contributing to one of the world’s most stable and sought-after destinations.

Building Bridges Between New Zealand and Global Capital As Founder & Managing Partner of KCP, Teddy leads acquisition strategies throughout the “golden triangle,” with a focus on light industrial sectors. The firm’s approach centers on acquiring, expanding, and consolidating established businesses that play an important role in New Zealand’s infrastructure. Through KCP, he is raising 75M NZD from 15 families and investors seeking residency opportunities while making meaningful contributions to the country and its economy.

During his first year in Wharton’s Executive MBA program, he developed KCP’s business plan and investment thesis, built advisory relationships, and refined the model through extensive planning and analysis. KCP now offers a geopolitical insurance opportunity for investors who recognize increasing macroeconomic uncertainty and value New Zealand’s reputation as a safe and stable place to live and invest. He has created a model that combines elements of private equity and search funds with local partnerships, community events, and philanthropic opportunities. This platform serves investors who seek both financial performance and an enhanced quality of life.

From Entrepreneurial Operator to Investment Leader Before launching KCP, Teddy held leadership positions across several industries. As Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer of Expert Capital Partners, he helped build an investment bank that experienced rapid growth while processing eight and nine-figure transactions.

Earlier, he co-founded LocalEyez, a marketplace focused on unique experiences, developed through The Icehouse incubator and featuring partnerships with providers such as JUCY. His professional background also includes family business consulting through The Legacy Academy, which he co-founded as a service line of Berkeley Research Group (BRG). In these roles, he advised business families, executives, and emerging leaders throughout the United States, the Middle East, and New Zealand. He designed leadership development programs, assessment tools, and succession planning strategies for multinational organizations. During this period, he also contributed to executive development initiatives involving leaders from major international alliances.

Creating Value Beyond the Balance Sheet In addition to his work in finance, travel technology, and consulting, Teddy has developed a nonprofit and executive retreat destination near Boulder, Colorado. There, he has guided the improvement of a forty-acre property dedicated to connection, reflection, wellness, and community. Demonstrating a hands-on approach, he personally built several features of the property and led teams as a general contractor.

Teddy continues to dedicate time, energy, and resources to maintaining the sanctuary as a place where service, belonging, self-reliance, and well-being remain central values. His charitable involvement includes serving on the advisory board of the C4 Foundation

alongside Medal of Honor recipients and supporting Navy SEAL families through the organization since 2017. He has also helped raise six- and seven-figure sums for charitable organizations such as Project HEAL.

Advocacy, Service, and Community Impact Teddy believes many of today’s challenges require stronger local communities, greater personal resilience, and more open conversations about mental health. Through Maka Sanctuary, the nonprofit branch of the retreat organization, and future educational initiatives, he aims to create environments where individuals, families, and leaders can engage with these topics in practical and meaningful ways. His efforts increasingly focus on helping people establish stronger foundations for leadership, service, and long-term success.

Scholarship, Athletics, and Personal Development Teddy earned a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Yale University and was co-awarded the Norman Holmes Pearson Prize for the university’s best senior essay. During his time there, he competed as an NCAA Division I lightweight rower and also played rugby.

His experience as a student-athlete inspired a lasting interest in performance science, sport psychology, and what he describes as “holistic fitness,” an approach that integrates physical health, mental well-being, purpose, and community to strengthen resilience.
