INSIDE THE KANSAS STATE SERIES Texas Tech enters Saturday’s match looking for its first win over Kansas State since 2004 as the Wildcats have won the last 15 contests between the two schools. The Red Raiders defeated K-State, 3-2, on Nov. 20, 2004, in Manhattan for their last win in the series which also was the last Tech victory over a ranked opponent as the Wildcats were ranked 20th at the time. K-State leads the all-time series 29-8 overall after hanging on for a 3-2 victory on Oct. 20 this year in Manhattan. The Wildcats are also 11-5 all-time when playing in Lubbock.

Miara Cave will be one of two Red Raiders honored in Saturday’s Senior Day ceremony, joining fellow San Antonio native Tory Vaughan. Cave is coming off one of her best performances of the season at No. 3 Texas Wednesday night as she connected on nine kills to finish one back of Emily Ehrle for the team high. She was 9-for-16 on the attack with just one error for a .500 hitting percentage, her highest during Big 12 play this season. Cave is one of two Red Raiders with at least 200 kills this season as she enters this weekend with 213 on the year go go along 38 digs and 40 blocks. This is the second-straight season where Cave has recorded at least 200 kills as she totaled 298 a year ago, giving her 834 for her career entering this weekend.
