The South East Wales Academic Health Science Partnership (SEWAHSP) is an alliance with a mission to cooperate and collaborate strategically and operationally, to integrate high quality research and education and enhance the region’s outputs in developing and applying improvements, innovations and health technologies to benefit the health and wealth of the population of Wales. SEWAHSP was formed by the Higher Education Institutions and NHS organisations in South East Wales to reduce fragmentation in R&D and accelerate health improvement in line with Government policies. It will work closely with industry and funders, and bring together researchers, managers, practitioners, patient groups, planners and policy makers to achieve the mission.

Advanced Professional Training (APT) in bioscience is a new range of Swansea University accredited training courses designed to meet the needs of individuals and businesses in the Welsh bioscience sector. Part of the ESF funded Work-Based Learning Programme, courses aim to equip professional learners with practical skills and specialist knowledge to enhance their existing laboratory or field skills. Courses are flexible and allow learners to select a number of complementary modules to tailor their learning to their professional roles. Our courses are also ideal for those seeking high quality Continued Professional Development. Contact us to find out more about our laboratory-based training, whether you are interested in basic skills or advanced techniques for postgraduates. Training may be free to eligible companies within the Welsh Convergence Region.

The Centre for NanoHealth (CNH) is a unique open access interdisciplinary research centre based on the application of Nanotechnology leading innovations in Healthcare. This is a joint initiative between the Colleges of Medicine, Engineering & Science at Swansea University and the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University NHS Health Board. It offers exciting opportunities to work at the interface between engineering biomedical science and clinical delivery, through access to a wide range of academic and clinical expertise and partnerships, as well as state-of-the-art nanotechnology and biomedical R&D facilities. The CNH seeks collaborations with industry in the healthcare, engineering, and biotechnology sectors requiring access to the state of the art facilities in the Centre for NanoHealth or academic partners in the healthcare arena. The eHealth Industries Innovation (ehi²) Centre is a business-facing centre for the ehealth industries, supporting the development of the ehealth sector in Wales. ehi² works with companies in creating new, innovative ehealth products and services with global market potential. It provides businesses with opportunities to test, adapt, improve and evaluate ehealth products and services in a safe and reliable environment to maximise their competitive advantage. It advises and assists companies and where needed, facilitates access to clinicians, academic experts, NHS organisations, and national NHS IT and ICT programmes. It works with the NHS and other health systems to identify needs for new products and services.
