Oceans, Seas And Lakes

The mystery place, which is a man-made waterway, is known as the Panama Canal. Its construction started in the year 1880 and after being abandoned for about ten years was finally completed in the year 1914. The two bodies of water connected by the channel are the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Three sets of locks at either end lift ships to 26 metres above sea level.
