NHIP announces winners of poster and essay competitions By Daisy Handfield A PRIZE giving ceremony was held at the NHIP headquarters in Grace Bay on Providenciales on Friday (October 10) to announce the winners of the second annual essay and poster competition.

As part of NHIP’s fifth anniversary celebration (October 1), the company hosted this competition, inviting students from the ages of six to 18 of all schools in the TCI to participate. The theme for this year’s competition was ‘NHIP is you’, giving students the opportunity to

describe what the theme meant to them in their drawings and written expression. Stania Ingraham administrative assistant for the company said that given the short time frame they had to work with, they were pleased with the amount of entries submitted by the schools. “Thank you to the judges for taking the time out of their busy schedules and last, but not least, the media for being here with us today and realising the importance of recognising our hardworking students and celebrating their accomplishments.” The top three winners of the

The International School who is also nine placed second, and Jamesh Clare from the Marjorie Basden, 14, placed third. The entries were judged independently by experienced people in the community; one being a journalist and another one being a professional of the arts.

Digicel and InterCaribbean Airways announce promotion winner

THE WINNERS of the Digicel and InterCaribbean Airways text to win promotion were announced during a press conference at the Digicel Store on Leeward Highway on Tuesday (October 14). Digicel customer Christin Greene was elated when she was contacted and informed that she was the winner of a round trip ticket to the Dominican Republic plus $400 cash spending money. Greene, a pastry intern with Crackpot Kitchen Restaurant, said she hopes to visit Santiago in the Dominican Republic and looks forward to a wonderful time. Digicel and InterCaribbean

Airways teamed up on September 1 to launch the text to win promotion which gave customers the opportunity to win a roundtrip ticket plus spending money to popular destinations such as the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Jamaica. Trina Adams, marketing specialist for Digicel, said: “September’s text to win promotion was extremely successful. “We have not received this level of participation in a while and hope that the momentum continues over the next two months.” CEO of InterCaribbean Airways Trevor Sadler said that he was happy to present Greene with a round trip

ticket to the Dominican Republic on InterCaribbean Airways. The promotion will continue to run for the months of October and November. People who wish to participate and win a trip to Haiti during the month of October should text ‘FIND’ to 7171 from their Digicel phone for a chance at walking away with the grand prize. The cost to play is $0.75 per text. Games run for a month long period and winners are announced 48 hours following the close of the game. Winners are free to redeem their prize up to 12 months following their win.
