ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - TCU had three players score in doublefigures Saturday as the Horned Frogs came alive down the stretch of the second half to capture a 63-52 victory over New Mexico at the historic Pit. The Frogs, who trailed by as many as 10 in the second half, battled the Lobos all day with all-out hustle and determination before eventually going on a 15-4 run to put the game on ice and quiet the crowd of 7,333 strong in Albuquerque. With the victory, TCU won for only the third time ever at The Pit and has now won four-straight in the all-time series, including back-toback in Albuquerque. The young and pesky Frogs, who out-rebounded the Lobos Saturday, simply found a way to win as several players made solid contributions late, which helped the Frogs record a 29-13 advantage in bench points Saturday. In all, TCU shot 43.5 percent from the field in the second half, while limiting UNM, who didn’t make a single three in the period on eight attempts, to under 34 percent during the period.

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU kept to its winning ways Tuesday night with a 58-48 victory over Wyoming at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. With the victory, the Horned Frogs won their fourth-straight game and closed out regular season play with a 16-13 overall record, including a 9-5 mark in the Mountain West. By defeating the Cowgirls, now 11-16 overall and 7-7 in league games, the Frogs clinched the No. 4 seed in next week’s Mountain West Tournament in Las Vegas. TCU and Wyoming will square off next Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. CT from the Thomas & Mack Center. On the night, TCU shot 44.9 percent from the field, including 52.4 percent in the first half. The Frogs, who once again used their trademark defense to grind out a victory, stole the rock 10 times on the night, while holding the Cowgirls to only 33.3 percent from the field on 17of-51 shooting. In all, TCU held Wyoming to only five made three’s on 20 attempts. For a majority of the night, the bench did most of the damage for the Frogs as TCU recorded a 27-5 advantage off the bench. In all, eight different Frogs scored Tuesday as the Purple and White tallied 14 assists on a balance offensive attack.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - TCU made a late push Wednesday but came up short, falling to Wyoming in the opening round of the 2012 Conoco Women’s Basketball Championship, 61-44. Late in the game, the Horned Frogs pulled within 12 at the Thomas & Mack Center on a 17-4 run, but couldn’t complete the comeback as the Frogs fell to 16-14 on the year. In all, TCU outscored Wyoming in the paint, 26-20, while holding the Cowgirls to only eight made field goals in the second half. The Frogs intensity seemed to pick up during the latter stages of the contest, especially on the defensive end as they forced Wyoming, now 12-16 on the year, into several bad shots down the stretch. In the end though, TCU, who saw its four-game winning streak come to an end, couldn’t find enough answers to derail a Cowgirl squad that had only won once in the last five meetings before Wednesday’s contest. Briesha Wynn posted her first career double-double with a team-high 12 points, while also grabbing a game-high 10 boards. Freshman Chelsea Prince was next in line with seven points and five boards, while Antoinette Thompson and Ashley Colbert chipped in with six points apiece, respectively.
