After teaching academic and employability skills to adult students with special needs for 12 years, Jerry Nahhas mastered an intangible aptitude for patience, empathy and gratitude. His strong passion for helping those in need and for making a difference in the lives of others is what makes him unique and genuine.

Jerry knew his background in special education was the perfect prerequisite to prepare him for a career in real estate. He had all the necessary skills that could easily translate into real estate success; therefore, when his wife encouraged him to investigate a career beyond the classroom, he was open to the idea. For two years, Jerry explored opportunities at different agencies but struggled to find inspiration that would help him achieve his goals of producing at the highest level. Then, as good fortune would have it, Jerry met with Anthony Djon, and everything changed.

After just one meeting, Jerry knew he had found his real estate home with Anthony Djon Luxury Real Estate. In his second month at the agency, Jerry matched his career volume of $3.3 million. Six months later, he was promoted to team leader, and within the year, he had achieved $10.5 million in closed transactions. In less than five years, Jerry’s career volume is more than $30 million.

“Finding the right brokerage is a critical element to success,” Jerry said. “Timing is everything, so while I’m grateful for where I’m at today, I also appreciate where I came from and how I started my career — it gave me perspective, developed my resilience and helped define my longterm goals.”

There are over 60 agents and five administrative staff members at Anthony Djon Luxury Real Estate and, together, they work as a unit. They share weekly mastermind meetings to help sharpen their skills and discuss industry best practices. As a team leader, Jerry offers support and mentorship to nine real estate professionals.

Currently, Jerry is most passionate about growth. “I want to continuously learn more and mold myself to be better,” he said. “I want to be a better representative for all my clients to ensure they are getting the best version of me in every transaction.”

Getting to the closing table and seeing the pure joy on his clients’ faces are the most rewarding aspects of Jerry’s work. However, as the market shifts and changes, Jerry has been faced with obstacles that have slowed down the process, specifically with competing offers. “Some of the ways I’ve overcome this challenge has been to educate my clients on the terms and conditions of an offer,” he explained. “In return, this has given my clients strength because they know they can offer terms other than a purchase price, which can give them an edge when competing with other buyers. I also reach out and build relationships with the corresponding agents to find out what is important to their client. In doing so, I found that providing my clients with all the information gives them the opportunity to strengthen their offers without giving up on what they are comfortable with to get their offer accepted.”

Jerry is very driven and self-motivated. He starts every work day with positive affirmations and mentally prepares himself to tackle anything that comes his way. “I know that what I do today will have an effect on what happens in the next three months,” he said. “I prospect new business daily so that I can sustain myself in this business for the long haul. Everything about my career aligns with who I am as a person. I identify with the quote that says, ‘I work 80 hours a week so I don’t have to work 40.’ It basically sums up how much I love what I do.”

Jerry’s wife, Vanessa, has been his constant support and sounding board for everything in his life. They have a son, Isaac, and together, they enjoy going out to restaurants, traveling or spending quality time at home.

Because he followed his heart and stayed true to his authentic desire of helping others, Jerry has found great success in real estate. His genuine care for his clients’ happiness is paramount, and his deep devotion of encouraging his colleagues to reach success is unwavering. “I love being able to understand each person’s story and applying that knowledge to helping them reach their goals,” he concluded.
