daughter, Joanna Maria, who was born the same day and died immediately after baptism. Swainstone lies about three miles from Newport on the Newport to Calbourne road. It was the seat of Sir John Simeon, M.P. for the Island from 1847 to 1851 , who resigned his seat on becoming a Catholic. During the Rev.
