SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT #8892 Writing Your School Improvement Plan The Illinois State Board of Education encourages any Illinois school organizing its improvement plan around state and federal requirements to use the School Improvement Plan Template (found at the Interactive Illinois Report Card website). The use of the template is required for schools new to academic early warning status (AEWS) or changing status from AEWS to academic watch status (AWS). Doug Whisker will assist school-based teams in utilizing the template to develop their improvement plans. The morning will focus on the content and format necessary in each section of the template to write a state-approved plan. The afternoon session will provide teams with an opportunity to work on their plans using the template. SIP teams, including an administrator, may want to attend as a group. Lunch is provided. Administrator Academy credit is available for $120. The fees for RESPRO schools will be covered by RESPRO funding. Each meeting will include a presentation on a relevant topic, time for participant sharing, and ROE consultant updates. Participants will use assessment results to diagnose student learning needs and to align and modify instruction. They will also learn to develop plans based on student responses and provide for different pathways based on student needs.
