from Canada to Mexico. Then they took an extended threemonth honeymoon and traveled to Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Laos. Carny writes that it was an amazing experience. In January 1999, Carny and Andy moved from Montana to Denver where Carny is working as a financial planner and enjoying lots of tennis and skiing. Carny got together with fellow Denver residents LEA WEDGE, KRISTEN DIESEL '94, and ran into CHRIS BONNY '96. Carny and her husband, KATE CARTY, RENEE ZIMMERLI, and SARAH TYRE are all planning a millennium trip to Jackson Hole. Kate Carty finished her master's in education at BU in May and moved to Denver in August. She is working at an educational center in Littleton and sees Carny Portanova Toth, frequently. ROBIN LEARY was married to BOJAYTAYLOR '96 in September. In July, Robin received her MS in physical therapy from MGH Institute of Health Professions, a graduate school affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. She is working at Brigham Women's Hospital. Bojay is a senior financial analyst

at Fleet Bank of Boston. Robin reports that CARTER AGAR is in China for two years. After publishing Nike Is a Goddess, LISSA SMITH headed to Africa for about seven weeks. Lissa enlisted some of the country's leading female sportswriters to chronicle women athletes' lives and times for the book, which provides a perspective on the advancement of women in sports. The book has received a lot of press and praise! MARC IZZO is at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, working in the department of Orthopaedic Research. His research is mostly centered on the cell-cycle, differentiarion of cartilage and connecrive tissue, and the transcription factors associated with those events. He has been first author of a few papers this year. Marc lives with KATHERINE MITCHELL, ALEX LADD, and AMY FISHER. HEATHER DUNBAR worked in the art department on Adam Sandler's movie, Big Daddy, and the film, Company Man, with Woody Allen and Sigourney Weaver. When she is not doing movies, she keeps busy designing for theater. Heather is still reeling from the election of Jesse the Body Ventura in her

home state of Minnesota. Heather writes that ALEXA YABLONSKI and ELLEN SCORDINO are living together in SoHo. Alexa is a free-lance writer and an assistant editor at Town and Country and Ellen works for a pharmaceutical company, while attending law school at Fordham. Heather also reports that SARAH HIRSCH and PAUL ESPANOL are buying a house in Queens. LEAH TERRANOVA is engaged to her law school beau and just bought an apartment in the East Village. LIZA ESCHELBACHER is living in Boston. RAMYA GOVINDARAJAN returned from a trip around the world, which included India, Saudi Arabia, Paris, and London. She will be attending graduate school for international business in Paris next fall. MELINDA LEONARD is still living and working in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. There is some concern for her safety after a close call in a terrorist bombing. MEADOW DAVIS is back from her Peace Corps stint in the Dominican Republic. JOHANNA WARD started a new job at Hall & Partners (advertising research firm) in SoHo. She had dinner with LAURA INGRASSIA, who was visiting from L.A. JoJo also got to go to a Yankees playoff game! Johanna is also engaged to Daryll Strawberry of the Yankees. He has decided to leave his wife Charise for the far superior JoJo. LARRY JACOB writes that he is engaged to be married in the fall of2000. He is still working for the nonprofit group, The Partnership for Children. He is very involved in politics and is raising money for his former bosses, Congressman Moore and former Senator Bill Bradley, on a volunteer basis. Larry reports that JAMIE KATZMAN is also ready to get married. He has set the date for August 2000. Whether this is some sort of deadline Jamie set for himself or if he really is engaged, I don't know. Once again, I just write the notes!
