First Year Experience
First Year Experience Advisor
Tabor's First Year Experience Advisor is here to help ensure Freshmen students can have a smooth and supported transition into college. The transition to college can be overwhelming and potentially even challenging in some areas. The good news is that you are not alone! Not only do you have the support of your new peers and professors, but you also have the First Year Experience Advisor to walk alongside you as well.
Here are a few tips and tricks from the FYE Advisor to help you transition and be successful in your time here at Tabor College! 1. Attend your classes. 2. Get to know your professors and allow them to get to know you better too. 3. Find a way that works best for you to stay organized...a planner, phone calendar, to do list. As long as it works for you, that's all that matters! 4. Support your peers in their extracurricular activities. Nearly all of our students are involved in something on campus whether it is athletics, fine arts, Student Senate, and so much more. Get out there and cheer them on in the things your friends are passionate about on campus! Student Success can help with this. 5. Ask any and all questions. 6. Get out and explore your new town and the surrounding areas. There are several hidden gems in Hillsboro, Marion, Newton, and McPherson.
7. Have Fun!
