Native American Connections
PARTNER HIGHLIGHT
From its humble beginnings in 1972 as a small grass roots organization helping Native American men in recovery from substance abuse, Native American Connections (NAC) has grown to serve over 10,000 individuals and families each year of all genders and ethnicities. Today, NAC offers affordable housing, integrated health and community development services in 21 sites throughout Central Phoenix.

In March 2021, NAC opened Dunlap Pointe, a 54-unit permanent supportive housing development primarily targeted to veterans experiencing homelessness. It is estimated that there are nearly 500 veterans experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County alone, with many suffering from substance abuse, mental illness or PTSD. We knew NAC could offer something more than just shelter—they would offer renewed dignity and hope.
NAC’s goal is to provide housing stability for its veteran residents and ensure that they have access to all available resources and benefits. This includes general mental health counseling, trauma-informed care for PTSD, traditional healing practices and assistance with the life skills necessary to thrive independently.
