Reenacting Thanksgiving
Kindergarten students of Middle Country Central School District’s Unity Drive School participated in weeklong activities focused on the first Thanksgiving. Students learned about some of the historical events as well as reenacted some of these events. Students spent their physical education
classes moving from station to station, boarding the Mayflower, climbing Plymouth Rock and harvesting food to actively experience the history of the first Thanksgiving. In addition to being educational, the interactive experience was designed to help develop the children’s gross- and fine-motor skills. T
