The premium property market is expected to perform well in 2025, with lower interest rates anticipated.
Some forecasts suggest the Bank of England base rate could hit 4% or lower by the end of the year. This will improve affordability and unlock more mortgage options for high-end buyers. Economic stability is creating a more favorable environment for luxury property purchases, and the gradual fall in mortgage rates is expected to bolster buyer and seller confidence, particularly in the prime market. Strong buyer demand is predicted to continue, especially in the upper segments of the market.
The Prime Capital Value Forecast shows robust growth in the ‘prime market’, comprising the top 5% of properties by price. While there are some challenges, such as potential tax changes for second homes and plans to scrap non-dom status, the overall outlook for the premium property market in 2025 appears positive due to these favorable economic conditions and sustained demand from wealthy buyers.

Originally from Yorkshire, Shaun Rankin honed his skills at The Mayfair Hotel in London and attended the Thames Valley University at Slough. Shaun’s love of the sea then took him to the Channel Islands where he spent the majority his career residing in Jersey. In 2003 he joined Bohemia restaurant as Head Chef, gaining his first MICHELIN star in 2005. Shaun opened his own highly acclaimed restaurant, Ormer in 2013 in St Helier which was awarded its first MICHELIN star four months after opening, as well as receiving three AA rosettes a few months later. Following his success in Jersey, Shaun returned to London where he opened Ormer Mayfair, as well as the restaurant at 12 Hay Hill, also located in London’s Mayfair.
