Life & Ministry of the Temple Baptist Church Time-line of Key Events in the Last 50 Years 1968

1966

Pastor Bruce Foss was called as the pastor of the Temple Baptist Church.

1974

Pastor Jerry Peace was called as the pastor of the Temple Baptist Church.

Church Founded

Pastor Al Cox organized and founded the Temple Baptist Church with charter members.

1988

1967

The Temple Baptist Church purchased six acres of land and built the first church building at 1700 West Beaver Creek Drive in Powell, Tennessee.

1986

Dr. Harold Clayton was called as the pastor of the Temple Baptist Church.

Temple Christian Schools opened with ninety students enrolled from kindergarten through sixth grade.

1975

The current building for the Temple Baptist Academy was built for use as the main auditorium and church building for the Temple Baptist Church.

Clarence Sexton was called as the pastor of the Temple Baptist Church.

1991

The Crown College is organized and admits its first freshman class.

1996

Mount Moriah Christian Camp and Conference Center is opened.

2014

2000

Construction is completed on the new auditorium for the Temple Baptist Church.

Launching the Global Gospel Initiative.

2006

Begins Crown College United Kingdom and opens first chapel in Birmingham, England

2010

Lake Texoma Baptist Youth Camp is opened.

2015

Crown College awards its 3,000th degree.

2016

Crown Media Radio & TV Broadcasting.

2016

10th Anniversary of the Faith for the Family Couples’ Retreat.

2010

Baptist Friends is launched as a resource platform for world evangelism.

Crown Christian Publications was founded

1995

The first printing of the Baptist Vision is mailed.

2004

The current campus of the Crown College is opened.

2016

Crown Nepal is founded in Kathmandu, Nepal.

the Temple Baptist Church continues as an independent, New Testament local assembly of baptized believers who have voluntarily joined themselves together to carry out the Great Commission.

Most of the charter members are in heaven with the Lord. The list below are members who are still with us and able to attend.
