FOREWORD: Behavioral Safety is the systematic application of psychological research on human behavior to the problems of safety in the workplace. Although, the widespread use of behavioral safety is welcome there is a very real danger that such systems do not incorporate the essential ingredients required for success.
Workshop at a Glance
This is NOT another theoretical training; it’s based on years of practical experience with employees at different levels and various cultures in the west and in the Gulf countries.
The goal of Behavioral Safety is to make the work environment as safe as possible. This involves constant assessments of the condition of tools and physical space, knowledge about the work to be done and work processes, the effectiveness of the personal motivation and the strategies that management employ to show the value of each individual to the organization.
Sound behavioral safety programs include the following basic steps:
Behaviorally specify the desirable performance Measure safety performance Shape safe performance through feedback and other consequences
