With an emphasis on good food and fun for the whole family, Rockfish will steer you through a memorable dining experience brought straight from their family to yours. So here we have a familiar story with a familial twist. After vacationing here for many years, Rocky Whitehead and wife Ginny moved to Hilton Head from Cincinnati 16 years ago. They bought the Art Café in Coligny Plaza as a fun family business which is now run by Ginny and daughter Brittany. Meanwhile, out in Colorado, their other daughter Stacey was going to college and working and one of her fondest hobbies was 16

seeking out the many breweries that dot the rocky mountain landscape. When Stacey decided to pull roots and join
her family in Hilton Head, Rocky saw the opportunity to start a family restaurant and thus the birth of Bomboras. An indigenous Australian term, Bomboras is an area of large sea waves breaking over a shallow area such as a submerged rock shelf, reef, or sand bank that is located some distance from the shoreline. Welcoming all who washed up on their doorstep with refreshment and sustenance, Bomboras was originally a small plate restaurant and bar in the corner of Coligny. According to Rocky, “We were probably the first place on the Island to bring in craft beers through Stacey’s knowledge.” When their lease was running out in Coligny, the family jumped on their vision to transition to more of a family restaurant with a focus on seafood and
