You would be forgiven for thinking that the British Open Pub was your typical English pub experience. After all, the cozy brick hearth in the center, warm woods surrounding you and wide bar dominating one side as you enter feel like they were pulled straight out of a quiet Yorkshire public house. Furthermore, the menu entices with British favorites like fish and chips, scotch egg and bangers and mash. But look closer, and you’ll see there’s a very important distinction between a British pub and the British Open Pub. Stop by for breakfast and you’ll be treated to French toast, an array of omelets and even a delicious breakfast burger. Stop by for brunch and you can enjoy bottomless mimosas and bloody marys. “We’re more a traditional restaurant with a little bit of British fare,” said owner Damian Hayes. “Since it’s British, a lot of people ask, ‘Is this a British pub?’ Well, it’s the British Open Pub; the real theme is golf.”
