GIVING WEEK 2025: BE A TEXAN.
Giving Week 2025 represents five days of impact through philanthropic generosity. Simply, this is our chance to invest and advance the mission and vision of Tarleton State. What happens during Giving Week must be truly transformational.
Our goal for Giving Week 2025 this year is to expand the number of Tarleton State alumni and friends actively making a difference through philanthropic generosity. Although the excitement felt on campus is at an all-time high, the number of alumni and friends who give back is below the national average.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN GIVING WEEK 2025:
1. Scan the QR code below or visit the Texan Excellence Fund website.
2. Identify your area of interest (the college, department, or initiative that you would like to support) and make a TEF qualifying gift (TEF qualifying gifts start at $125.00 a year or 11.00 per month).
3. Participate in our “Next-Level” Challenge: Inspire others to follow your lead by telling friends, family, and fellow alumni to join us this Giving Week. If you successfully refer five (5) additional TEF donors, we will “next-level” your TEF membership to the next TEF membership level without requiring you to make an additional gift!

THIS IS THE TEXAN EXCELLENCE FUND
Distinguishing Giving Week 2025 is the Texan Excellence Fund (TEF), Tarleton State dynamic, innovative annual giving platform that rewards members in novel and tangible ways for their invaluable generosity.
Centered on the success of our exceptional Tarleton State University Texans, TEF incentivizes alumni, friends, and stakeholders to invest in life-changing impact through philanthropic giving.
For a gift to qualify as a Texan Excellence Fund donation, the contribution must be current-use or operational cash not tied to endowment. It must also be a new gift, not a payment or an existing pledge.
Note that all gifts made during Giving Week 2025 will count as Giving Week donations. However, a gift must meet the TEF criteria to qualify as a Texan Excellence Fund donation (and yield TEF benefits for the donor).
TEF donors can select their college, can choose the Tarleton Alumni Association, designate Texan Athletics, or impact any approved program and be stewarded in TEF at the full value of their donation. TEF truly exemplifies its tagline: “One Fund, Many Ways to Give!”

TARLETON STATE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION: If you are not currently a TAA member, join now by making a TEF gift of $125.00 and designating TAA. Advance new levels of engagement, build Tarleton State’s profile, and help us expand our important alumni giving percentage.
TEXAN ATHLETICS: Advance championship success for Texan student-athletes by investing in Texan Athletics this Giving Week. Designate “Tarleton Athletics” with your Giving Week contribution and deliver resources that correlate with competitive excellence and the growth and development of our Texans as lifelong leaders.
TARLETON RODEO: Invest in excellence by supporting our 37-time national championship rodeo program. Giving Week gifts to Tarleton Rodeo will be employed by Head Coach Mark Aiken to recruit and support our exceptional studentathletes, complete important competition projects, and secure equipment vital to Tarleton Rodeo’s championship standard.
TEAM TARLETON: Donors wishing to build awareness for the company they own can select Team Tarleton, TEF’s corporate stakeholder society. WHAT IS GIVING WEEK 2025?
Giving Week 2025 is a five-day period from March 31- April 4, 2025 to demonstrate dedication and devotion to studentsuccess and institutional excellence at Tarleton State through philanthropic generosity.
Success achieved during Giving Week, above all, impacts Tarleton State’s exceptional student community in transformational ways. Scholarships, student-centered programs, student-centered projects, and student-achievement initiatives are all elevated and advanced during Giving Week.
The success of Giving Week also reflects on the prestige and notoriety of Tarleton State. Strong participation mirrors confidence in the continued rise of Tarleton State and our visionary leadership. It also correlates directly with our national reputation, as philanthropic generosity expressed during Giving Week exemplifies institutional strength and stature.
DO ALL GIFTS MADE DURING GIVING WEEK 2025 COUNT AS GIVING WEEK DONATIONS?
Yes – all gifts made during the five-days of Giving Week count as Giving Week contributions, regardless of the amount of the gift, the nature of the gift, or the gift’s designation.
DO ALL GIFTS MADE DURING GIVING WEEK COUNT AS TEXAN EXCELLENCE FUND (TEF) DONATIONS?
No -Only gifts that meet the Texan Excellence Fund criteria count as TEF commitments. To meet the TEF criteria, a gift must be a new cash commitment that can be instantly used / is operational or “flexible” in nature. Gifts tied to endowments, capital projects or cash payments on existing, multi-year pledges do not count as new, operational donations and therefore do not count as TEF commitments.

Yes – when you make a Texan Club gift during Giving Week 2025, your contribution counts as a Giving Week commitment. However, Texan Club commitments DO NOT count towards the Texan Excellence Fund.

CAN YOU GIVE TO ANY COLLEGE, DEPARTMENT OR APPROVED PROGRAM DURING GIVING WEEK 2025?
Yes – all gifts regardless of designation or nature (current use / operational, endowment, capital) count as Giving Week 2025 commitments. This means you can select your college or area of interest, including Tarleton Athletics or the Alumni Association, and be counted as a Giving Week 2025 donor.
CAN YOU FUND A NEW ENDOWMENT DURING GIVING WEEK 2025?
Yes – life-changing endowed gifts made during Giving Week 2025 count as Giving Week contributions. Endowment gifts are not “annual,” operational gifts and, therefore, do not count towards the donor’s Texan Excellence Fund standing.
However, endowments yield transformational, lifechanging impact that is lasting. As a result, donors who fund endowments (scholarships, professorships, chairs, and programs) will be stewarded in our new, lifetime giving society to launch on July 1, 2025.

CAN YOU SUPPORT A CAPITAL PROJECT DURING GIVING WEEK 2025?
Yes – you can advance a capital initiative during Giving Week. Note that capital contributions do not qualify as Texan Excellence Fund donations. Nonetheless, capital gifts of $25,000 or more will be stewarded in Tarleton’s new lifetime giving society, to launch on July 1, 2025.
