Coaching Records

isty Wilson is in her 12th year as a full-time assistant coach for the Tarleton women’s basketball program. She has seen great success, and helped lead the TexAnns to all five NCAA tournament appearances in school history, including last season. In her Tarleton coaching career, Wilson has been a part of 10 LSC Championship Tournament appearances, five NCAA regional playoffs, the first LSC Division Championship, the school’s first LSC regular season championship and LSC tournament championship teams. Wilson, the sixth-best scorer in Tarleton history, joined the staff in August 2002 following a stellar four-year playing career. The Burleson native played in 103 games from 1998 to 2002. She scored 1,440 career points and was the season scoring leader three years in a row.

She’s currently in the top 10 of 11 Tarleton career categories, ranking as high as second all-time in free throws made and attempted (433-545) and steals (326). As a junior she earned a second team All-Lone Star Conference South Division and second team All-South Central Region honors, including first team honors as a senior. In addition, she was the team’s Most Valuable Player for three consecutive years. Wilson earned a bachelors and master’s degree in exercise and sport’s studies from Tarleton. She earned her bachelor’s degree in 2001 and finished her master’s degree in the spring of 2004. She played two years under the maiden name of Garvin before marrying former Tarleton football player, Kevin Wilson. Misty lives in Stephenville with their three children, Jade, Mya and Kenna.
