4.1 Description of first aid measures

Check the vital functions. If the victim is unconscious, ensure adequate oxygen supply and breathing. If the victim does not breathe freely, give mouth-to-mouth or oxygen. In the heart is not working, resuscitate. If the victim is conscious and breathing heavily, sit them up. If the victim goes into shock, place them in a horizontal position with the legs slightly raised.

Splashing into the eyes

Avoid rubbing the eyes to prevent damage to the cornea. If you are wearing contact lenses, remove them. Tilt your head in the direction of the injured eye, open your eyelids and immediately rinse your eye(s) under running water for at least 20 minutes to rinse off all particles. Prevent the rinsing water from getting in the uninjured eye. If possible, use 0.9% NaCl solution for rinsing. Contact a doctor or eye specialist.

Skin

If you are exposed to the dry product, clean and rinse your skin with abundant water and soap. If the product is wet, wash your skin with a general amount of water. Remove contaminated clothing, footwear, watch, etc., and clean them thoroughly before using them again.

Respiration

Move the patient to fresh air. Any dust in the throat or nostrils must be immediately removed. Contact a doctor in case of irritation or unpleasant coughing.

Swallowing

If the victim is conscious, clean the mouth with water and have them drink plenty of water. Immediately contact a medical clinic or poison information centre.

4.2 Key symptoms and effects, bothacute and delayed

Eyes: Redness, mild irritation.

Skin: Repeated or prolonged contact may cause irritation.

Respiration: Cough. Irritation on the mucous membranes of the nose.

Swallowing: Large quantities may cause nausea and vomiting.

4.3 Instructions pertaining to potential urgent medical attention or special treatment

In accordance with the treatment instructions (see 4.1.)

5.2Specific hazards resulting from the substance or mixture

The product is non-flammable and non-explosive and it does not contribute to or sustain the combustion of other materials. The product may react with strong acids and alkalis.

Stay above the wind, consider evacuation and keep any doors or windows in the adjacent area shut.

Specific PPE for fires

Firefighters should use their standard equipment.

SECTION 6. Measures in case of accidental release

6.1Safety precautions, PPE and procedure in emergencies

Ensure adequate ventilation. Wear protective gloves, clothing and goggles (see section 8). Wear protective footwear. Cordon off the danger area. Prevent dust clouds from forming, for example, by watering. Wash all contaminated clothing. If the ventilation is inadequate, use a respirator.

8.1 Variables applicable to supervision

Limit value of known hazardous content in workplace air: Recommended maximum HTP value (Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, 2014) 10 mg/m3/8h (inhaled dust).

Ensure proper ventilation at the workstation. Eye-rinsing station and emergency shower at the workplace.

Prevent the release of the product into a sewer, surface water or groundwater.

Environmental safety precautions: Prevent release into a sewer or water system. Prevent leakages and uncontrolled release into the environment.

6.2 Methods and equipment applicable to protective structures and cleaning

Prevent leakages if safe. Brush solid materials into a closed container. Wash contaminated surfaces with water. Wash clothing and equipment after the treatment. Do not wash with water in a sensitive environment. Dispose of the product pursuant to the instructions of the local authorities.

SECTION 7. Handling and storage

7.1Safe handling measures

Use adequate ventilation. Avoid dust formation. Wear protective gloves, clothing and goggles (see section 8). Avoid contact with skin or the eyes. Wash contaminated clothing. Keep the container closed. Follow the official instructions. Wash your hands after handling the product. Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling the product. Do not store with foodstuffs or animal feed.

7.2Conditions for safe storage, including incompatibilities

Store the product in a dry, well-ventilated place protected from heat, fire and direct sunshine. Keep the product in the original packaging. Keep the product separated from fire sources, strong acids and alkalis, corrosive substances, water and humidity. Store in a dry, wellventilated place. The product is not flammable.

7.3Specific end use: Not classified as hazardous.

Technical prevention measures

Eye and face protection

Use protective goggles.

Skin protection

Use watertight, alkalinity- and wear-resistant protective gloves with a cotton interior. Wear boots, long-sleeved protective clothing and other protective products to avoid long-term skin contact.

Respirator

Use a P1 respirator in accordance with the EN standards, if you are exposed to large quantities of dust. Dust nuisance is minimised with proper ventilation, dust-removal and dust-free cleaning methods.
