National Award and other Awards

The National Award, as provided by the Professional Photographers of America, is a special honor recognizing outstanding service to our industry. The choice of the recipient is determined wholly by the State or Regional Association. It may be given to any member or non-member of the Association, and is not restricted to those in the field of photography. The only restriction is that no individual may receive more than one National Award from the same association during their lifetime. The NHPPA National Award recipient is determined by the last five recipients, who receive input from all previous recipients, as well as the current Board members if needed, and while this award is available on an annual basis, it will be withheld if no suitable candidate is found.

This award is presented to the photographer who enters FIVE (5) images and has the highest average point total from his/her top FOUR (4) images of which three images score 80 or above (Blues). In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the jury panel based on their body of work. If no one qualifies, the Chair may reduce the blues to two.
