At Chartwells diversity and inclusion is at the core of who we are. Our leadership strives for it. Our associates live it. Our suppliers model it. And our community relationships reflect it. To communicate both our commitment and approach to diversity and inclusion, we’ve developed a very clear and concise strategy called the House of Inclusion.

HOUSE OF INCLUSION This strategy is composed of three parts: • Foundation - Education/Training • Pillars - Engagement/Participation • Roof - Measurement/Metrics We believe providing a solid foundation of diversity and inclusion knowledge, encouraging participation and measuring our progress are cornerstones in creating and maintaining an inclusive workplace.

Diversity and Inclusion Mission and Vision We envision diversity and inclusion becoming part of our global identity, enabling us to be the industry leader and a driver of innovation and success. To that end, we are on a mission to create a culture that promotes inclusion and appreciates our differences, allowing us to achieve success and ultimately a competitive advantage.

Diversity Metrics Tracking At Chartwells, we must attract, develop and retain top diverse talent and foster a workplace where each individual has the opportunity to shine. We maintain a focus on hiring associates who reflect our commitment to our clients, their customers and the communities of which we are a part. Our multifaceted diversity and inclusion strategy focuses on the needs of our business to drive excellent performance. Diversity metrics are captured and reviewed quarterly with senior leaders to ensure improvement in the areas of hiring, promotion, and labor turnover.


Diversity & Inclusion Action Council (DIAC)

With an overarching mission to create a diverse and inclusive environment supporting innovation and collaboration, the DIAC members work as diversity change agents throughout the organization. The Chartwells DIAC champions and implements our diversity and inclusion strategy across the organization. Their efforts are vital in helping us sustain our competitive advantage.

Compass in the Community

Compass in the Community supports efforts that align with our business strategy and that meet the needs of our communities. We focus on initiatives that address: • Fighting hunger • Sustainable food • Nutrition education • Diversity in the foodservice industry • Malnutrition, illness and disease

METHODS OF SUPPORT Corporate Contributions Compass Group North America, Chartwells’ parent company, supports corporate, social and charitable organizations that are consistent with our approach to Compass in the Community.

Client Support Our business sectors consider client requests for outreach assistance that are consistent with the focus of Compass in the Community.

Associate Support Whenever possible, Chartwells supports the efforts of our associates to raise funds and to donate their time and services to initiatives that align with the focus of Compass in the Community.
