We decided on doing a first look for a couple different reasons. First, we wanted to make sure we had enough time for pictures and didn’t want to be rushed between the ceremony and reception. After looking at our wedding timeline, doing a first look and pictures before the ceremony made the most sense. We also wanted to be able to spend as much time possible celebrating with our family and friends. It wasn’t until that day that I saw how perfect doing a first look is. Seeing Jason for first time was a very important part of the day, and it was so nice to be able to share that moment with just him and really take it all in. Also, for me, I loved having Jason with me before the ceremony - I get very nervous when all eyes are on me, and it was nice to have him there to help calm my nerves! Of course I was worried that doing a first look would take away from that moment of walking down the aisle, but it didn’t at all! As soon as I turned the corner and saw Jason waiting at the end of the aisle, I was still overcome with emotion and the waterworks started all over again! Yes, I did see Jason before the ceremony, but walking down that aisle to him – I was walking to my future, to the start of a new life – and nothing can take away from that feeling! - Melissa Staffieri
