ANNUAL LUNCH FOR THE DISADVANTAGED
On Saturday, 13 August, the Tutela Boksburg CMR celebrated their ‘ánnual lunch’ at the Boksburg Park NG Kerk with their people from disadvantaged areas in Boksburg such as Blue Sky informal
settlemet. The purpose for the annual lunch is to give our people from disadvantaged areas a treat by spoilling them and giving them a proper meal hence they don’t have a proper meal

celebrating Women
Ladies from the corporate industry flocked to Birchwood Hotel & Conference Centre on Friday 12 August to celebrate Women’s Month at the Birchwood Women’s Day. Motivational speaker, Gavin Sharples, made sure the ladies were properly entertained. By providing non-stop laughter, the ladies didn’t even realise that they were learning some valuable life lessons and even receiving some advice regarding their relationships. He also explained the importance of building meaningful relationships with staff in the workplace, and why it’s important for the staff to have decent working relationships amongst each other. Singer Amor Vittone, opened her heart and explained the difference between being a strong woman, versus a woman of strength. She reminded the women to take some time out to do what they enjoy, as it enable them to give more of themselves to those around them.
She spoke about how ageing must be left to cheese and wine before entertaining the crowd with some of her newest songs, as well as well-known classics, much to the attendees’ enjoyment. Revlon made the day extra special with their colour-pairing experience, giving the ladies a mini make-over. The ladies from Mangwanani Spa provided some pampering with lovely massages, everything while the guests sipped on some wine and enjoyed a cheese tasting
every day. They also receive additional food parcels like mealie meal, rice, canned food and sugars to get them going. They also received warm clothing and toileteries such as tooth paste, tooth brushes and soap.
The congregation of the Boksburg Park NG Kerk sponsored meals, clothing and toileteries whereby they receive donations from.
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE
NEWLY GRADUATES On Wednesday, 17 August, the Tutela Alberton, formerly known as Alberton CMR, celebrated the graduation of their students that participated in their Foster Care Training group at the Dutch Reformed Church in Thokoza. The group commenced on the 1st of July 2016 for 9 weeks and continued until the 27th of August 2016. The two facilitators of the group: Susie Pergoo and Delly Mahlakwana were proud to initiate the 9 week course and said to the tame TIMES that they believe that Tutela Alberton is making a difference in the lives of their community members There were 50 people that graduated on 17 August 2016 from the training. The training was held at the Dutch Reformed Church in Thokoza, every Wednesday’s for 9 weeks. The purpose of the training is to educate parents, foster/ prospective parents, caretakers, single parents, prospective adoptive parents about the Children’s Acts concerning the best interest of a
child and how to identify and manage the development stages of a child.
