RACING’S NORTH TURN Ponce Inlet, FL In July of 2014, the popular beachfront bar and restaurant of Racing’s North Turn in Ponce Inlet, FL was severely damaged after an electrical malfunction started a kitchen fire. Precious memorabilia paying homage to the area’s rich racing history and much of the building was destroyed. It was during this difficult time that Tamlite was asked to step in to aid the admired restaurant in reconstruction efforts. Racing’s North Turn, which is settled nicely on the Atlantic Ocean near Daytona Beach, must abide by certain lighting regulations put forth by Florida Fish and Wildlife that are aimed at protecting nesting sea turtles and surrounding wildlife’s light sensitivities. Tamlite took into consideration the specific beam and color spread requirements and met the needs of the project with 10W and 30W Amber Floodlights. The amber light operates at a wavelength that does not attract sea turtles, thus reducing hatchling disorientation and encouraging their natural path into the ocean. The restaurant applauded Tamlite’s flexibility in providing the beachfront lighting and purchased a number of other Tamlite products to use throughout the remainder of the building, including: New work 6” & 4” cans, baffle & eyeball trims, ESLR -1 exit lights, LED exit signs, TALRT cool white ribbon tape, and LED-ready closed and gasketed fixtures. Fusion Lamps also contributed 4ft LED tubes, Par30 LED lamps and MR16 LED lamps. Tamlite is proud to have contributed to putting the famed grille and bar back in business!

MAZAK OPTONICS Elgin, IL Fed up with sub-par light distribution and rising energy costs, the Mazak Optonics Corporation of Elgin, IL enlisted Tamlite to find a solution that would provide them with energy-savings over their current metal halide fleet while ensuring that the new install would be able to adequately provide enough light to reduce shadows and produce a bright, clean feeling. Tamlite had the perfect luminaire for the job: the patented SCH Sun Chandelier. With its curved design and even light dispersion, the Sun Chandelier increases safety and productivity in workspaces while reducing the blinding glare found with other commercial LED solutions. Mazak acknowledged the benefits of the SCH series and subsequently ordered and replaced 68 metal halides with these luminaires. Thus far the company has been very pleased with the results.

PAG E 7

Of the SCH series, Mazak says, “It makes it MUCH easier to see the labels in the parts department and the LED lights give us a brighter, whiter and cleaner looking showroom, which is so important to us in the technology world.

400 RECORD STREET Dallas, TX In order to highlight the diversity of its products, Tamlite used various lighting fixtures in the reconstruction of the 400 Record St. building in Dallas, which houses the City Electric Supply (CES) headquarters. The dramatic renovation included several floors of CES space and Tamlite was asked to provide multiple solutions, including a wireless system, custom made LED arrays, and pendant lights that were used throughout.

PAG E 8

The wireless control system used in the CES headquarters in Dallas is a wireless technology using the EnOcean protocol. EnOcean wireless switches do not require batteries but use kinetic energy for power. Pressing or releasing a switch activates an electromechanical energy converter that’s movement generates energy for a telegram. No wires or batteries make installation simpler and maintenance free. Wherever there is light, even at a low level of 200 lux or less, small solar cells harvest energy to power occupancy or lux sensors. These sensors control the light levels by way of daylight harvesting. During the day, the sensors regulate the light levels automatically, where more sunlight reduces artificial light levels, hence reducing electrical draw. The sensors also detect occupancy, turning lights on when a space is occupied and turning them off when the sensor no longer identifies movement. The wireless controller allows us to regulate the light levels by adjusting the upper and lower limits of the 0-10V dimming driver. With this, we are able to sculpt the light to a desired level; if brightness needs to be reduced after installation, the controllers allow for this functionality.

400 RECORD STREET (cont.)

Dallas, TX Tamlite supplied over 150pcs of 6 and 8 DCLED Series Cylinders to City Electric Supply for use at the new 400 Record St. Building. The DCLED Series Cylinders were installed on four separate floors of the building and offer a modern, clean look for the taller ceiling applications, through the use of a pendant mounting system. The pendant mount created a comfortable office environment, complimenting the open ceiling concept while playing the role of a suspended ceiling instead. Not only do the customers love the look of the DCLED Cylinders, but also the installation in various locations throughout the building really demonstrates the versatility of the product, as it can be used across a wide range of commercial applications. To highlight some tailor-made Tamlite work, our engineering department designed an architecturally inclined LED array that consisted of 488 SLWLED fixtures, a custom-made suspended bracket system, as well as hangers and harnesses. The eight-foot fixtures were designed in a triangle pattern and sit overhead in various locations throughout CES Headquarters.

TRANSYLVANIA VOCATIONAL SERVICES Brevard, NC Transylvania Vocational Services (TVS) is a private, non-profit dry food manufacturer that specializes in blending and packaging dry powder products for government and commercial customers. As a non-profit that has been involved in humanitarian efforts like blending and packaging MRE's (meals, ready to eat) for the Department of Defense and providing employment and vocational services to adults with disabilities, TVS knows the value of a dollar. When addressing their lighting system, made up of old antiquated 400-watt metal halide fixtures, they knew there had to be a more economical option. With 119 of the old 400-watt fixtures burning 24 hours a day 5 days a week, TVS's high power bill had to be reduced so the company could put those savings to better use. Tamlite was able to provide TVS with a welcome solution by changing out their existing inefficient high bays to our 150-watt HBLED1505K LED high bays. A onefor-one replacement of all 119 fixtures gave them the energy savings, maintenance savings, and ease of installation they needed. Also, with increased light levels and greater uniformity, their employees now have a better working environment in which to do their jobs. On top of increased production rates, the upgrade to modern Tamlite Lighting technology has generated enough savings from this project to help pay the salary of two of their vocational services employees. It’s a win-win situation for everyone!

SIXES PIT BIKE SHOP Canton, GA Angel Rivera, the owner of Sixes Pit Bike Shop located in Canton, GA, wanted his business to stand out as more than just another bike shop; he wanted his customers to feel welcome and impressed with the details of the space. This is when he reached out to Andy Henderson, a sales representative at Tamlite. Andy showed Angel how Tamlite could help him replace the old T12 strip lighting and inconsistent cans/trims that came with the original building and redesign the shop to help provide the right amount of light to appropriately accent the space. For the sales floor, Angel wanted to increase light levels to make the bikes more visible. With that in mind, 2 HORT5654MVLB were hung to ensure that even with shadowing there was enough light output to illuminate the bikes on the bottom row. In the retail area 2 HORT8432MVLB high bays were installed to provide uniform light throughout the space, while IC206ATQ housings were fitted with the RFK56-4 to add a nice punch of task lighting over the mechanic station and in the hallways. From showcasing accessories to accenting the latest products to hit the floor, Tamlite’s Chase Tape was used for several applications throughout the redesign and has been received positively by customers and Angel alike. Sixes Pit is becoming one of the hottest bikes shops in North GA.

STANDRIDGE COLOR Jasper, GA It was nearly five years ago, when Standridge Color began working with Tamlite, that the company became strong believers in the quality and performance of the HORT series. From the first installation at the plant in Social Circle, GA to the upgrade at the Greensboro, GA facility, Standridge continues to turn to Tamlite for all of their new build and reconstruction endeavors. Things were no different during their latest inquiry. When Standridge made plans to expand their manufacturing branch to Jasper, GA, they asked Tamlite to assist them in finding a solution that would provide adequate and even light for the new space, despite the building’s tall ceilings. The HORT Series was the ideal match for the new industrial location, offering a durable build and high lumen output. History speaks for itself and, per usual, Standridge Color is extremely pleased with the performance of the 150 HORT5654MVL units that were installed. To this day, they still quote Tamlite for their domestic projects.

HENDERSON SCHOOL SYSTEM Hendersonville, NC The Henderson County School maintenance team realized that the existing metal halide lighting system in the school gymnasiums could really benefit from a full-service lighting upgrade. Knowing that the local electrical utility company was offering lucrative rebate incentives for the switch to LED, along with the opportunity to save on maintenance cost and time, they decided that LED technology was the way to go and that Tamlite was the company to use. Tamlite was able to demo our HBLED1505K high bay to key personnel and they immediately loved what they saw. The school system decided to move forward with our luminaires and began the metal halide upgrade by replacing 100 of the 400-watt fixtures, located in five different gyms, with 100 of Tamlite’s HBLED1505K high bays. By upgrading from their existing 400-watt fixtures to our 150-watt LED fixtures the school achieved tremendous energy savings and received a $170.00 per fixture rebate from the power company. In addition, Tamlite’s HBLED luminaires greatly increased the light levels in the gyms, providing a better experience for both athletes and audiences, and the ease of installation, which required a simple one-for-one replacement, was well received by the maintenance team. Successful completion of this project also led the school system to order and install 100 of our TCLED24 LED lay-ins for another project, which will be one of many more to come.

NAVCO Alpharetta, GA NAVCO, a private, national electronic security system integrator, recently enlisted Tamlite for a unique new construction opportunity in Alpharetta, GA. In this new building and warehouse space, NAVCO required many various fixture types for several different applications. In the offices and hallways, Tamlite’s IDLED24-C8800D2L840 were chosen for their modern styling and high visual comfort while the kitchens and storerooms were equipped with our low-profile TCLED24-4400L840 luminaires. For the accent lighting around the reception and conference rooms, Dèluce’s air-tight new work IC206ATQF housings were installed with the RFK56-4 LED retrofits for energy efficient, high output lighting. The exterior of the building was to be outfitted with bright, energyefficient fixtures and Tamlite met that request with 6 W4LED1205K HIDs. The HORT5654MVL high bays were a perfect fit for the warehouse as the large space required high lumen output in durable luminaires. In fact, from the ease of installation to the solid body and performance of the fixture, NAVCO said that Tamlite’s HORT is the best high bay they have ever used. NAVCO also pointed out that the units work great for illuminating both interior and exterior spaces and that the upgrades have helped to improve the safety of the employees and the security within the workplace.

GLOBAL PACKAGING SOLUTIONS Albemarle, NC Global Packaging Solutions is an industry leader in the innovation of green packaging, offering a complete line of packaging products from recycled and recyclable films, papers and self-adhesive labels to biodegradable and compostable materials. After purchasing a building in another city to relocate their business, they saw the need to change from inefficient lighting technology to more energy saving LED in order to practice their eco-friendly values at the new location. Tamlite was called in to take a look at the facility full of old T12 industrial fixtures. After visiting the site, producing several layouts and performing energy analysis, Tamlite was able to offer them a solution with the IBLED4 fixtures. These luminaires provided Global with the lighting they needed to meet their requirements: improved light levels, tremendous energy savings, greatly reduced maintenance costs, fixtures that qualify for utility rebates and no hazardous lamps of which to dispose. By changing over to our LED fixtures Global Packaging Solutions will be able to achieve an annual energy savings cost of over $20,000. Global's quest to be as environmentally friendly as possible continues with their selection of Tamlite LED lighting.

EDELMAN U.E.G. Dallas, TX Tamlite was searching for an opportunity to expose its unique, proprietary fixtures to a broader audience. That opportunity arose when United Entertainment Group (UEG) expanded to the Dallas area and expressed interest in our LED Continuous Linear RSP Series and DCLED Cylinders for its new construction project. While Tamlite has a reputation for delivering high quality, durable and energy-efficient luminaires, what UEG found most appealing about the RSP and DCLED fixtures is that they’re available in color finishes that aren’t typically seen on the market. For example, the designer chose to have the linear fixture delivered in black, which offered a sleek appearance that was well-integrated with the existing structure and isn’t commonly available from any of Tamlite’s competitors. Another unique feature of the RSP Series is that it can be mounted in several configurations; it can be either recessed, suspended, or pendant mounted and can even be installed vertically or as an uplight for added architectural appeal. Since the installation, the architectural firm involved has shared Tamlite’s design with the entire organization of over 1400 staff designers and there has been an exceptional amount of activity surrounding the availability of the RSP Series and the DCLED Cylinders.

ABERDEEN CAROLINA & WESTERN Candor, NC The largest privately held short line regional freight railway in NC was seeking a solution to the lighting problem in their train maintenance facility. With 40 ft. ceilings, the existing 1000-watt metal halide high bays, which consistently had burned out ballasts/lamps and sent their electricity bill through the roof, had to go. Their search for more efficient light fixtures led them down many different avenues but after trying several different LED fixtures by various manufacturers none of them provided the solution they needed. Shortly after, Tamlite introduced its new IBLED series high bays and approached Aberdeen about re-lighting their approximately 80,000 sq. ft. building. After doing a site survey, Tamlite provided layouts using its IBLED1054000D4L850. Even at a 40 ft. mounting height, the 54,000 lumen IBLED did an incredible job increasing light levels. By showing the customer, on paper, the benefits of the IBLED, they decided to bring in a test sample and give it a trial run. They were very impressed with the function of the luminaire, which blew away the other higher wattage, higher priced LED luminaire from another manufacturer that they had previously installed. Equally as important as the improved light levels is the ROI on this lighting project. After all was said and done the customer is looking at a projected five-year energy cash flow of around $32,000. Not bad for just changing out their lighting system.

TOWNHOUSE COMPLEX Ontario, Canada Vandalism, pedestrian visibility, and minor arson headlined our client’s concerns regarding the security of this townhouse complex. Originally outfitted with high-pressure sodium post top globes, this site was poorly lit with extremely low uniformity; this resulted in poor pedestrian visibility in parking areas and roadways, and unlit areas, which were frequent targets for vagrants. Despite the reduced general illuminance, residents were also concerned with light trespass into second floor bedrooms of this multi-unit townhouse complex. Tamlite replaced the existing fixtures with full cut-off DLWPDSK30LED luminaires with type III optics for increased illuminance control (minimal light trespass and glare) in a 5000K color temperature to increase perceived brightness of the area for added comfort and security of local residents. The property management company was extremely satisfied with ease of installation and the cost savings of over $2,000/year. Since then, this customer has utilized Tamlite products on 3 additional property jobs conducting the same scope of work.

HAMPTON INN Daytona Beach Shores, FL The Hampton Inn of Daytona Beach Shores, FL was undergoing a full site remodel that required renovations to both the interior and exterior areas of the property. As part of this remodel, the hotel realized that it had to upgrade its outdoor floodlighting to meet the new, much stricter regulations that were being enforced for oceanfront properties. Tamlite was contacted for consultation on this job because of its previous successes in meeting beachfront lighting standards and reputation for providing high quality, durable luminaires. The existing fixtures being replaced were 250W quartz floods and 100-150W metal halides that spanned the perimeter of the property. In order to reproduce the same amount of light, but meet the standards put forth by the state Tamlite suggested to outfit the Hampton Inn with RBLED805KSF, TATFLL3050K, and TAFLL5050WH floodlights. The upgraded lights were installed with aluminum shields to meet dark sky standards and reduce beam spread in order to satisfy environmental oceanfront regulations. As an added bonus, the lights delivered increased energy savings and lessened long-term maintenance costs. The Hampton Inn staff noted how pleased they are with the final result and how the new lights add a premium architectural appearance to the property exterior.

CES DELAND BRANCH DeLand, FL In the early part of the 2015-2016 fiscal year, the City Electric Supply branch in DeLand, FL was finally able to schedule their well deserved remodel. This branch has been in the City family for over 15+ years so it’s appropriate that it was one of the first branches in the nation to be chosen for the new corporate layout, which included a fresh new lighting design. The existing fixtures in the sales office included 2x4 3 light T8 fluorescent troffers and 2x2 u-lamp T8 fluorescent troffers. The decision was made, in collaboration with Tamlite's head engineer, Tom Wouters and Daytona Group Manager, Rich Meyer, to showcase the most energy efficient and top of the line PoE (Power over Ethernet) and daylight harvesting systems available for the location. It was planned from the start to use the soft and welcoming light of the new IDLED22 unit and wire it for low voltage over Ethernet throughout the entire building. The daylight harvesting system was installed to help reduce energy consumption by offsetting the amount of artificial lighting needed based on the amount of natural daylight available. When the storefront windows provide high levels of daylight, the lighting controls dim or switch off the artificial lights as necessary; because of this, the branch saw electricity savings almost immediately. Kris Reeder, the now branch manager, has worked at the DeLand branch for many years and was more than pleased with the turnout of the lighting renovation. The contractor involved was also pleasantly surprised on the overall results and at how well these technologies were integrated into the renovation.

CORNERSTONE LTD. Caledon, ON Technicians in this facility were forced to use portable lighting in order to perform service work on vehicles and equipment, despite a high operating cost mixture of 1000W and 400W metal halide fixtures in service. Taking advantage of available rebates and incentives, Tamlite assisted Cornerstone Ltd. by designing a lighting solution to meet their needs and save energy in the process. Utilizing 6 x 54W T5 Lamps in place of the existing metal halide fixtures, Tamlite was able to increase the uniformity of the space and create an environment that meets the functional needs of the facility and elevates the overall production. Using the T5 lamps significantly reduced the operating energy requirement versus traditional HID technologies, while increasing illuminance levels for the varied tasks performed. By handling the design process and facilitating the rebate application process Tamlite provided a seamless transition with little interruption to operations.

“We are extremely satisfied with the recent upgrades to the lighting in our facility. Thank you for making this an extremely quick and painless process. We appreciate the assistance from both the TAMCO Group and TES in making the entire process from start to finish effortless on our part, and for doing so much of the legwork during the approval process with our Hydro Supplier. The fixtures that your sales representative recommended fit our location perfectly and have already reduced our hydro cost significantly. The increased illumination in the shop is even more than we expected. Lastly, we appreciate the follow up visits that were made to ensure our satisfaction. It was a pleasure working with your team. - T. Warne
