The dessert of each destination is going on a cooking trip with a famous Belgian chef. The chefs who will join our trips are Jeroen Meus in Laos, Piet Huysentruyt in Malaysia and Wout Bru in Vietnam. Good to know AIRLINE COMPANY We will work for this destination with the following airline company.

FORMALITIES FOR BELGIAN CITIZENS Your passport has to be valid at least 6 months after return. You get the visa at the airport? The visa costs has to be paid at the airport. 45 USD or €45 for single entry. 65 USD or €65 a person for a double entry. CURRENCY The currency in Vietnam is the Dong (VND 10.000= 0.3603). The import and export of the coins is forbidden. You can exchange your euro’s and dollars in the site. Credit cards are accepted in most hotels and in the most tourist shops. LOCAL TIME When it is 12 a.m. in Belgium it is in Vietnam 6 p.m. in the winter and 5 p.m. in the summer. CLIMATE Because of it’s extensiveness knows Vietnam different climates from north to south. The most pleasent time to travel is from mid november till the end of April, with a change of a shower. From the end of April till mid November is rainseason.

Culture and tasting A 10 days culinary tour The highlights of the trip: 

Day 1 Sunday: From Brussels with the train to Paris, than from Paris to Hanoi. (L,D) You will take the train in Brussels-South to Paris. In Paris you will take the plane to Hanoi with Vietnam Airlines. Day 2 Monday : Arrival and transfer to the Sofitel Metropole. (B,L,D) When you arrive at the airport of Hanoi, you will be greeted and have a transfer to the Sofitel Metropole hotel. The rest of the day you can rest or explore Hanoi. You will have dinner in the hotel. Day 3 Tuesday : Sightseeing tours and restaurant trips (B,L,D) Today's full day tour of Hanoi includes visits to the One Pillar Pagoda, built in the 11th century constructed of wood on a single stone pillar; Hoan Kiem Lake a beautiful lake located in the heart of Hanoi; Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the final resting place of Ho Chi Minh, a glass sarcophagus set deep in the bowels of a monumental edifice that has become a site of pilgrimage The Opera House, Temple of literature, St Joseph Cathedral and Old Quarters, a colorful marketplace where one can buy anything from herbal medicines to silk garments to gold jewelry.


Lunch at Le Tonkin restaurant. Le Tonkin has been renowned for fine Vietnamese dining since opening in 2000. Set in a 100-year old beautifully restored French villa, Le Tonkin is a breathing cultural heritage. Home for a French family for years, the villa is adorned with century-old artifacts, such as oil lamps, a Buddhist altar with fresh red roses. Le Tonkin( named after the northern part of Vietnam) is a great introduction to Vietnamese cuisine. The menu is rich and is ideal for those who wish to understand Vietnamese culture through tastes. All dishes are exquisitely presented and accompanied by traditional music performances. Dinner at the Emperor Restaurant. Settled in a colonial villa, the restaurant is among the most beautiful ones in Hanoi with a two-story pagoda-style outdoor pavilion. The ground floor is more like a drinking place filled with comfortable sofas and bartenders moving around serving cocktails. The second floor is an open kitchen area delighted by sparkling candle-lit one every wood-carved table. Renowned as being a food lovers delight this elegant eatery offers clay pot dishes, fresh seafood delights including soft shell crab and a host of Hue specialties from a refined Vietnamese menu. Besides Hue’s Royal cuisine like rice pancake stuffed with toothsome morsels of pork; savory eggplant with garlic served in a clay pot and tangle of rice vermicelli with crabmeat, peppers, seaweed, and egg, the restaurant’s menu also contain a wide


array of Vietnamese food such as: Fresh Spring Rolls, Papaya Salad for appetizers and steamed, flaky White Fish in a banana leaf or oniony Soft-shelled Crab and Tender Grilled Squid.
