PLAN IT. HOST IT. LOVE IT. Talking Tables was founded on the belief that time together is the best of times. As we look forward to the season of celebrations I’ve found myself reflecting how recent months have reminded me of this fundamental truth. The glorious way we came together to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee displayed the pent-up demand for gathering as well as an occasion to toast Her Majesty. At Talking Tables we have always desired that as many people as possible experience the joys of gathering together. We know that for many elderly people their social connections diminish over the years. So I was delighted when we threw a summer party for the elderly local community and also took the important step of sponsoring Re-engage. This brilliant charity is dedicated to tackling social isolation in older people living alone and we’ll be working with them via their volunteer-led tea parties. At the other end of the age spectrum, we’re committed to ensuring that the children of today inherit a habitable planet. Talking Tables has exceeded the criteria for becoming a B Corporation – the Gold Standard for companies doing good – and are awaiting certification. We continue to make environmental inroads – this AW, for example, 91 per cent of our collections are plastic free. I hope you enjoy our seasonal collections and wish you well.
