Rheumatoid Arthritis: Intereferes with the cross-link formations of tropocollagen molecule when newly formed. Mechanism of action of penicillamine is unknown in rheumatoid arthritis. It lowers the IgM rheumatoid factor but no significant difference in absolute serum immunoglobulin levels. In-vitro suppression of T-cell activity but not B-cell activity. Wilson’s disease: Two molecules of Penicillamine binds with one atom of copper and are excreted out of the body.
