Taiga Press is a design & letterpress print studio in Astoria, Oregon that specializes in creating minimallydesigned correspondence and art for the everyday. An anthropologist by training, owner/designer/printer Erica D’Alessandro’s designs are inspired by the textiles and botanicals she has come across while traveling: from the quilts of Amish Country to the kilims of Sweden; the native plants in her backyard to the folk embroidery of Russia and Eastern Europe. She is drawn to the idea of translating fabric mediums and botanical illustrations to paper via the historic art of letterpress, which has its own unique texture and feel.
