This year we celebrate the Artown festival’s 18th year in our community. For decades, a strong core of arts and culture has been thriving in our region, and Artown was created to frame this depth of talent and creativity; to help illustrate the vast tapestry of diversity and culture within our city; and to provide entertainment and inspiration for all walks of life that exist here.

Reno’s reputation as having a solid, internationally-competitive, thriving arts and culture scene proceeds itself. It takes a multitude of local, national and international artists to bring our festival to life each year. In 2013, we not only revel in the many genres of the arts represented within Artown, we are astounded by the many facets of our community reached by the festival’s more than 500 events.

While there is a multitude of rousing ticketed events within the festival, the plethora of free programming offers ease of artistic accessibility to everyone from young families to our area’s eldest residents who have seen many evolutions of the arts. We are honored to showcase music, dance and visual arts events that represent the many cultures within our community, and expose the artistic ingenuity of other cultures that may not be as prevalent in our area.

Artown is about inclusiveness at its heart. From whimsical to compelling, we are elated to bring another month of events, exhibits, workshops and innovation to northern Nevada. We invite you to celebrate our region’s artistic and cultural diversity this July, impeccably framed within the 31- days of Artown.
