cc Decide which career path best suits you. Australian apprenticeships/traineeships are available in over 500 occupations, so chances are there’ll be one that matches your interests cc Explore the careers area on the Australian JobSearch website at www.jobsearch.gov.au/careers. Or you may already have a job in a relevant Industry

cc Discuss Australian apprenticeships/traineeships with your career advisors, VET coordinator or teachers. They will have access to plenty of information. Investigate your training and career options at: cc www.jobguide.deewr.gov.au cc www.myfuture.edu.au cc www.aatinfo.com.au

cc Write or brush up your resume! Don’t forget to include: cc your contact details cc your school studies, achievements and work experience cc your interests, skills and career goals cc Find an employer willing to take you on as a school-based apprentice/trainee. You can do this by: cc looking in the job vacancy ads in your local paper or on the web cc contacting the Job Services Australia provider cc contacting employers in the industries you’d like to work in. Go and see them and leave a copy of your resume; or cc you may already be working part-time in an industry cc Once you have found an employer, ask your careers advisor to complete the school-based apprentice/trainee notification form and submit it to our SBAT Project Officer cc Both the form and SBAT Project Officer details can be found at www.sydneytafe.edu.au/tvet
