Suit Up For Prom 5/4 I really enjoyed the Suit Up for Prom event. I believe that everyone should be able to enjoy a special moment in their life. At this event, we helped set up the the dress shirts, dress shoes and other accessories for the boys section. I had also donated a few dresses. The experience was moving and really brought joy to my heart. It felt really good to help people and just to see the smiles on everyone’s faces. I got a little emotional because the girls looked so beautiful in their dresses and the boys looked handsome in their suits. Having the opportunity to wear a beautiful dress and walk down the runway was also very fun. I felt confident and had a great time overall. - Chi Chi

Festival of Colors 5/17 The Festival of Colors experience at Edison was truly a fun experience. It was a way for different people to experience a new culture. When I got to the event I saw a bunch of different colors. Upon entering the event everyone received a free pack of color. There was no objective to this event. It was a way for students, staff, and even family members to enjoy their Friday evening. At the event I saw people throwing color at people they didn’t even know. It was a pretty good icebreaker. The event was cut short because of the sudden rain but continued shortly after. There was snacks, beverages, and even homemade cupcakes. This was a very pleasant experience and I hope to see more people there next year. - Somaiya Islam

Its My Park! Day 5/18 I was very eager to start working for the My Park Day event. I love cleaning and giving back to the community. It was great to be able to work with my fellow peers and not only being able to accomplish the job but to have fun whilst doing so and the food was a plus. But in all honesty it felt great knowing me and my friends made a difference at the park and to help out the other park rangers with their job. I did not mind getting down and dirty with the leaves to get the job done. I loved how all key club members were filling bags with leaves by the minute. I would consider this a job well done and I can't wait for the next park day clean up in the fall. - Zannatul Ahmed

AIDS Walk 5/19 Well my experience at AIDS Walk was amazing. I enjoyed myself a lot and it was fun walking with the other participants who were trying to make a good cause. I am very pleased to be able to participate in the AIDS Walk and was able to make a difference. It was a very humble and terrific experience. I look forward to go on more walks for a cause and make a difference in our society. -Jannatul Mim

Passport To Taiwan 5/25-5/26 Passport to Taiwan was a very fun experience where I was able to join thousands of New Yorkers to celebrate Taiwanese culture. I volunteered at one of the stations where I served Taiwanese food to a long line of people. It was a very hot day but being able to help during this event was definitely worth it. I saw multiple Taiwanese artists and tasted different types of food. Overall, the festival was something to look forward to since it was filled with activities for everyone and varieties of traditional Taiwanese food to try. - Kaniz Saima
