S H OP SMALL S HOP & SUPP O RT 25+ AAPI, BLACK AND HISPANIC/LATINX BUSINESSES YOU CAN EXPLORE RIGHT NOW By Sophia Anderson and Ashley Hult
SteelCraft Garden Grove — an outdoor food hall with some of the region’s best culinary offerings, housed in repurposed shipping containers with a setting designed for community gatherings and connection — celebrated Southern California’s diversity with its summer-long Summer Culture Series. The series of free, fun events focused on diversity and inclusion and brought together community leaders, vendors, makers and performers from the Asian American Pacific Islander community (July 24) and the Black community (Aug. 21). In addition to enjoying the delicious food from SteelCraft eateries including Barrio, Beachwood Brewing, Bird Talk, Dark Horse Coffee Roasters, Duck Donuts, La Taqueria Brand and The Penalty Box, guests learned about and celebrated a variety of cultures that make our Orange County community special. There is still time to experience the last event of SteelCraft Garden Grove’s Summer Culture Series on Sept. 18, which will celebrate Hispanic/Latinx culture. All are invited to come learn, discover, eat and show support, and a portion of the proceeds from all events will benefit Orange County United Way. Even if you weren’t able to attend SteelCraft Garden Grove’s AAPI and Black culture celebrations, you can still shop the participating vendors and makers. Show your support for AAPI- and Black-owned businesses featured in the list below — we’ve also included a sneak preview of the Hispanic/Latinx-owned businesses you can shop at SteelCraft Garden Grove at the Sept. 18 event.
