Flinto was inadvertently omitted from the article on the 2009 TSA Design Awards (p. 39 in Sept/Oct). Tulsa-based Flintco, with a regional office in Austin, sponsored the Design Awards jury in 2008 and 2009. The previous edition’s news ar ticle on the new Cowboys Stadium (p. 23) erroneously stated the size of the opening in the roof. When fully retracted, the aperture is approximately 210 x 500 feet. The overall size of the roof is 660,800 square feet.
Thanks, Joe Mashburn! I was delighted to read the Geoff Brune article highlighting the University of Houston College of Architecture’s sustainability initiatives. (See “Market Value” on p. 39 in Nov/Dec.) Dean Joe Mashburn deserves recognition for his efforts in sustainability innovation.
