KNOWLEDGE: • Mobilizing PCVs to support national projects • Tourney to Thies, Fatick, Kaffrine, Kaolak, Tambacounda, Kedougou, Kolda regions in March: over 100 Volunteers provided with materials to complete malaria prevention activities • Travel with PMI Resident Advisor to support PECADOM + initiative in Saraya • Facilitated meetings between Kolda and Velingara Volunteers and District level health personnel to link common objectives • Support and participation of World Malaria Day activities in Toubacouta in April • Assisting in development and coordination of Malaria Boot Camps • Facilitator in 4 Boot Camps: led sessions on behavior change for malaria prevention and electronic tools • Training Volunteers in skills pertaining to malaria education • Led three day in-service training malaria training for health volunteer cohort • Conducted 7 work zone trainings on malaria basics (plasmodium life-cycle in the anopheles mosquito and human host, vector control, importance of promoting care seeking behavior, introduction to malaria partners) • Identifying regional work-zone level malaria volunteer leaders • Identified and worked closely with 8 regional malaria coordinators
COLLABORATION: • Integrating Volunteer work with NMCP and Partner strategies and objectives • Attended PNLP meetings (when invited by Mamadou, Julie, or Joan) • Organized Volunteer contributions to NetWorks continuous distribution supervision visits (participated in Kedougou and Saraya visits) • Organized Volunteer contributions to PMI Treatment and Diagnosis research • Solicited Volunteer commitments to participate in PMI operational research (IPTp, entomology, net durability, outdoor nocturnal behavior patterns) • Introduced Volunteers with promising projects and data to PMI Resident Advisor and NetWorks staff
• Worked with Louga Volunteers to ensure involvement in continuous distributions • Advocated for scale up of Malaria No More’s after school curriculum: over 500 students have received certificates of completion • Importing/sharing malaria intervention techniques from/with other STOMP countries • Photo project from Burkina Faso successfully replicated throughout Kolda region • Senegal bed net care and repair case studies have been replicated throughout Africa since being posted on the stompoutmalaria.org website • Vetting SPA grants and attending SPA grant meetings • Attended two SPA grant meetings and helped vet 8 SPA grants • Training Volunteers to publish information on stompoutmalaria.org • Since creating the website in 2012 133 Peace Corps Staff and Volunteers have been trained to publish information online • StompOutMalaria.org now has 110 Staff and Volunteer contributers • Between 2012 and 2013 the site reached a quarter of a million facebook users, and has a total of 14,816 unique views

INDICATORS OF SUCCESS: • Between 2012 and 2013 100% (over 200) of Volunteers in every sector have received malaria training • 30% (90) of Volunteers in Senegal (100% Preventive Health sector) have been trained on project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation • 30% of (81) Volunteers in Senegal have completed a malaria prevention activity • 8 (18 total) designated malaria Volunteer leaders have been actively helped to train other Volunteers and coordinate local malaria prevention and care seeking activities • 55 case studies of malaria prevention and care seeking promotion have been posted on stompoutmalaria.org • Survey of Volunteer activities conducted and shared with PMI (Google Map link)
