FISHER HOUSE Analytic Study This artifact was the outcome of a semester long analysis of Louis Kahn’s Fisher House. A thorough investigation analyzing the house against eight conditions informed the final artifact. The final artifact was created using a process of laser cutting acrylic in series and applying a layer of paint before each cut. The plates are then housed in a cypress box derived from a detail on the house. These eight conditions were as follows: -The house as a sign of culture in the landscape, the house as a projection of man and a point of reference in the landscape. -Approaching the building; the way the building comes into view. -Entering into the sphere of influence. -Passing under the roof. -Stepping into the house; crossing the boundary of exterior and interior. -Occupying the interior. -Encountering light and darkness, the space of light. -Looking through the openings; the relationship between inside and outside.
