STATIC GUARD GUIDELINES
On arrival, use your eyes to check
● Sign in and out of the App at the commencement and conclusion of your shift.
● Contact SXP National Operations Centre (NOC) on 1300 136102 and Site/Duty Manager (if required) to advise that you are on site.
● Stay inside the car and inspect the location.
● If multiple offenders on site stay in vehicle-call for back up.
● If persons are rowdy or under the influence remain in car and call for back up.
● Call for back up if needed while in the vehicle.
If Safe, Proceed to Task
● Ensure you are in full security uniform with Security License visible.
● Wear high viz vest where required.
● Station yourself where instructed and maintain a high security presence.
● Remain pleasant and respectful.
● Maintain space from all customers or offenders.
● Physical appearance to be neat and clean.
● Mobile phones not to be used unless in an emergency.
Remain Alert
● Never become complacent when it comes calling the Police or escalating. Always assume the worst possible scenario. Never let an opinion or assumption cloud your judgement when escalating. It is better to be safe, than sorry.
● Southern Cross Protection has a NO TOUCH, NO CHASE Policy.
● Keep space between you and offenders.
● Retreat to vehicle or a safe location if required.
● If possible, use de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques.
