Young Professional Woman Honoree Stephany Andrade
Stephany Andrade is currently a rising sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh who enjoys the duality of being an out-of-state student and visiting home on holidays and breaks. Hailing from New Jersey, Stephany wasted no time to immediately become involved in the Pittsburgh community. As a first-generation college student, Stephany brought it upon herself to help young girls like herself to strive for greatness.
Since her arrival at the University of Pittsburgh, Stephany is a part of the Strong Women Strong Girls branch at her University, interns at an underserved elementary school in Homewood, and is the founder of A.P.P.L.E @ Pitt; an organization based on bridging the gap between students, community, future, and current educators. Wherever she is, Stephany enjoys volunteering her time to the community she is a part of. Whether it be mentoring students as a Resident Assistant or as a TRIO SSS Peer mentor, Stephany can be found all over campus.

In her personal time, Ms. Andrade enjoys reading, running, and spending time with family and pets. Because of her recent efforts in pursuing research based on redlining and gentrification within the education community, Stephany plans to graduate with her master’s in education on the Combined Accelerated Studies in Early Childhood Education track offered at Pitt.
Ultimately, she plans to teach and be involved in educational policy reform to ensure a better future for our students.
