Date 03/03/2011 11:54 PM Approx. Location 400 E McKellips On 03/03/2011 at approximately 2354 hours officers were dispatched to the gas station at 415 E. McKelllips. On arrival they learned a female victim had parked her gray Isuzu Trooper in front of the water machine at the front of the store. As the victim was getting water, the suspect, a Hispanic male, 5’05”, 170lbs, gray hair and moustache got in her vehicle and drove away. The keys were in the vehicle, but it was not running. The victim grabbed the driver side door handle in an attempt to open the door, but the suspect backed out and then drove west exiting the parking lot. During this time the victim was holding on to the door handle and was briefly drug and then thrown to the ground. The victim had several scrapes and bruises; was treated by Mesa Fire and transported to Arizona Regional Hospital. The scrapes and bruises were minor injuries.

Stolen Vehicle
On 03/04/2011 at 2040 hours, officers responded to a vehicle burglary in progress. Upon arrival the victim advised officers he

had confronted the suspect and retrieved the stolen items. The suspect, left on foot. While speaking with the vehicle burglary victim, officers received information that the suspect had walked inside a nearby residence and was confronted by the resiadent. The trespassing victim advised that suspect had left on foot. Officers located suspect walking in the 1100 block of N. Pasadena and took him into custody. One on ones were conducted and suspect was positively identified as the suspect involved in the vehicle burglary and trespassing. Prior to securing the suspect in the backseat of a patrol car, an officer was attempting to retrieve an item out of the trunk of his vehicle. Suspect, while still handcuffed, used his upper body and head to slam the trunk lid on top of the officer. The officer was struck in the back of the head but did not sustain an injury. The officer took control of suspect and was trying to secure him in the rear of the patrol car. As suspect resisted this attempt, he slipped and struck his head on the patrol vehicle. Suspect sustained a small cut above his right eye. Due to his level of intoxication and slight head injury, suspect was transported to Arizona Regional Medical Center.
Robbery
Date 03/09/2011 10:04 AM Approx. Location 300 E Brown On 03/09/11 at 1004 hours officers were dispatched to the a bank located at 300 E. Brown Rd. in reference to a bank robbery. Upon arrival it was determined that the suspect entered the grocery store and went over to the bank. He then demanded money from the bank teller. The suspect then left the store and went towards the parking lot. The area was searched with negative results.
Threats – Domestic Violence Date 03/25/2011 9:50 AM Approx. Location 400 E McKellips
Officers responded to an emergency call regarding a subject threatening with a sword. Upon arrival it was determined the 19-yearold suspect had left the scene without the sword and no injuries or damage was discovered. However, probable cause was established for a domestic violence threats violation. The suspect was later found walking on a nearby street and he was detained without incident. With the assistance of family members on scene, the suspect was force committed to Urgent Psychiatric Center for a mental evaluation. The suspect was also cited and released for the threats violation.
Armed Robbery
Date 03/27/2011 7:15 PM Approx. Location 400 E Brown Rd On 03/27/2011, at 1929 hours, the suspect walked up behind the victim in the east parking lot at 400 E. Brown. The suspect grabbed the victim around the neck and placed what the victim thought was a handgun in the back of his neck. The victim does not speak
English and thought the suspect wanted his wallet. The victim reached into his vehicle to get his wallet and the suspect grabbed the victim and pushed him away from the vehicle. The suspect drove the victim’s vehicle southbound through the parking lot then fled in an unknown direction.
