LORA MURE-RAVAUD Born in France. Lora MureRavaud studied Philosophy and Literature at the University of Strasbourg before entering École Cantonal d’Art de Lausanne (ECAL) in the cinema section in 2014. Her first two short films premiered at the Locarno Film Festival. Her graduation film BLACKJACK (2017) won awards in numerous festivals. In 2018 she entered a residency at the Swiss Institute in Rome where she developed EURIDICE, EURIDICE.

MATTEO GARIGLIO * 1986. The Swiss-Italian Matteo Gariglio graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor in Film from Lucerne University of Art and Design (HSLU). He pursued his studies with a Master in Documentary Film Directing from DocNomads in Lisbon, Budapest and Brussels in 2015. With his last short documentary, EN LA BOCA (2017), he won the Golden Dragon at Krakow Film Festival, Best International Short Doc at Guanajuato Film Festival and was among others nominated for the European Film Awards.

Giuseppe Spagnuolo is the last inhabitant of a small, deserted Italian village. Around him, the old house facades are slowly breaking down and nature is reclaiming the last remaining building structures. Every day, Giuseppe dresses up in elegant clothes in the ruins of his house to present himself to the incoming tourists. But slowly Giuseppe’s personal facade is also beginning to show its cracks.

An antique music instrument dealer receives a magical vinyl record from a traveller. “It reads your mind and plays your lost memories”. Obsessed by this endless record, the antique dealer listens to it again and again, and the memories re-emerge.

JONATHAN LASKAR * 1978 in France. Jonathan Laskar has a Bachelor in Fine Arts from University AixMarseille. In 2008 he graduated from the Bauhaus University in Weimar with a degree in Architecture. Having majored in Short Motion at the Lucerne School of Art and Design (HSLU), he completed his Master’s degree in Film in 2013. He works as film director, music composer and as film animator for various Swiss production companies since 2014.

ZOEL AESCHBACHER * 1993 in France. Zoel Aeschbacher is of Swiss and Vietnamese origin. Marked by the short films of the Kourtrajmé collective, he began experimenting with a DV camera. In 2017 he completed a Bachelor in Film at the École Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne (ECAL). His graduation film, BONOBO (2017), premiered in international competition at the ClermontFerrand Film Festival and received the audience award. BONOBO won the Student Academy Award for best student film in 2019.

A teenager in search of recognition, a worker ready to do anything to hit the jackpot and a senior executive at the end of his career who wants to prove to himself that he is still alive. Three characters who are losing their way on the competition highway.

MOST IMPORTANT MODIFICATIONS 2021: – Funding also for festival participation of minority coproductions – New festivals are eligible for support (including EFA-qualifying festivals) – Additional support for the participation of Swiss XR projects in selected sections of international film festivals. Applications must be submitted by the distributor via the Swiss producer.

In order to strengthen the market potential of Swiss films abroad, the Swiss Federal Office of Culture (FOC) supports the participation of Swiss films at international film festivals. Support is granted for Swiss films and approved coproductions in selected sections of international film festivals.

VOD SUPPORT

The VOD Support aims to strengthen the online distribution of Swiss films on international VOD platforms. Support is granted for Swiss films and approved coproductions (majority Swiss production). Eligible to apply are production companies, world sales or directors domiciled in Switzerland who own the rights to the film. If the VOD rights have been sold to a professional distributor in the respective territory, support for VOD releases can be applied for exclusively by the distributor via the Distribution Support.
