Cartwright Drive dangers
From Mrs S I Hills, Ransome Close, Old Shaw I read with interest the August front page story about Cartwright Drive.
I recently drove through the village of Lydiard Millicent and was amazed to find a completely different road system. It consisted of several sleeping policemen, quite close together in conjunction with one-way systems, pedestrian crossings and a roundabout by the Purton turn-off.
My complaint about Cartwright Drive is that it is an extremely dangerous road consisting of many twists and turns and worsened by the speed of drivers, some of whom use it as a racing track.
It was noted that the authorities concerned felt that Cartwright Drive did not warrant any sleeping policemen or pedestrian crossings (despite the extremely precarious position of Brookfield Primary School).
I am wondering what makes Lydiard Millicent right and Cartwright Drive wrong. It seems to me that perhaps the residents of CaitwrightneedaCouncfflororsomeone in power to take up our cause.
