Haydon Wick Parish Council have shared the news that they now have an interactive, motion-activated Mobii Table, for members of the public to hire. The parish council staff say the table is a mobile, motion-activated, and interactive projection system.

It is said to be proven to help people with learning disabilities, age-related diseases, mental health issues, and other physical health issues. A spokesperson from Haydon Wick Parish Council said: “It gives children and adults the opportunity to actively take part, socialise, challenge and unwind.”

It has been found through research that those with dementia who have used interactive tables have demonstrated positive changes such as::

• Emotional Stability

• Mood and Outlook

• Sense of Self-Worth and Belonging

• Physical Effort and Energy

Similarly, positive changes demonstrated among children and adults with additional learning needs were found to be:

• Improvement in ability to take part in activities rather than passively watch

• Improvement in ability to socialise and enjoy meaningful activities with others

• Improvement in ability to stretch themselves, think, and be challenged

• Improvement in ability to unwind with calming physical activity

Those interested in more information, or hiring the Mobii Table, can contact Jo via memorycafe@ haydonwick.gov.uk or by calling 01793 722 446.
