Happenings A lot has been happening this year already and everyone has been thoroughly enjoying the outings and events. Popular outings so far have been the Bunnings Garden Club, Margaret River Chocolate Factory, Featured Wood Gallery and the Crown Casino. The Men’s Shed enjoyed an outing to Ten Pin Bowling and then to Chinese for lunch. The ladies also took to the lanes at Ten Pin Bowling in Bunbury and showed off some great skills. Check the calendar and book in for your great day out with SWCC!

Thank you! In February one of our staff members kindly donated two new vacuum cleaners to South West Community Care. Each year, this Support Worker finds a positive way to honour the memory of her deceased family member. This year the Support worker had noted several of our clients were not as fortunate as others and did not have the luxury of a vacuum cleaner. She asked that we identify two clients who would most benefit from this gift. Pictured is a very excited Lindsay Crammond receiving his vacuum cleaner from Team Leader Stella Wallace.

The “Ups “n” Downs” © Les Stevens Jan 2019

Some misnomers, there appears to be That the Ups are Down, as you will see As you travel down south, you may find That so many “Ups”, get left behind In making your way, through many a town You will pass through “Ups”, that are “down” That is a strange thing, for me to say But happens so often, on the way If should you doubt me, then look it up You will find plenty, to fill your cup Dandalup, Yunderup, Wokalup Boyanup, Balingup, and Yornup Palgorup, Perillup, Manjimup Quindalup, Meelup, and Yallingup Muradup, Kojonup, Ongerup Gnowangerup, then Jerramungup Not to mention others, like Nannup Narrikup, Nillup, and Boranup Dwellingup, Mumballup, and Coolup Cowaramup, Carbunup, and Kirup There’s a lot more, but I have no time To fit so many, into this rhyme I could go on, and empty the cup But think you’d rather, that I shut UP
