Phone 9782 4000 to let us know that you’re going to be going away. We will suspend your services and make sure everything’s set to go again when you come home.
Let a trusted person know your travel plans so they can deal with any emergencies.
Arrange for a neighbour to park their car in your driveway, take out your bins and collect your mail so that it looks like someone is at home.
Cancel your newspaper delivery. Unplug electrical appliances. Turn off your garage door opener and ensure the door between your garage and your home is locked.
If you’re away for an extended period, it’s a good idea to turn off your home’s water supply at the mains to prevent the risk of leaks.
Double check all doors and windows have been key locked.
Have a great time! And don’t forget to send a postcard to us at South West Community Care! www.swcommunitycare.org.au

Members from South West Community care have been notified by the Harvey Police that scammers are on the loose! Unscrupulous individuals are making phone calls to elderly people in our community and asking for personal and banking details. Dave Herrington, Senior Constable with the Harvey Police, wants to remind clients not to give their personal details over the phone, no matter how legitimate the caller sounds. Snr Constable Herrington also advises that elderly people in Harvey and Yarloop have been
targeted in the last few weeks. www.swcommunitycare.org.au
