I would recommend anybody to undertake an Erasmus year abroad. You not only gain language skills, and skills to add to your CV, but you also gain lifelong friends. I met people from every corner of the globe and I am certain that I will be seeing many of them again in the future.

Perry Swanson, BA Law and French, year abroad in Switzerland at University of Geneva

My year in Toulouse has not only helped me intellectually but on a personal level as well. It has improved my language skills and given me confidence in my French. I have also learnt that I am able to adapt in different situations and be successful in a foreign country. After studying abroad, I have come back to finish my degree a more independent person. I now realise that I can travel and work anywhere in the world. My year abroad really has opened my eyes to all the opportunities that are available to me and has given me the self-belief to pursue them.

Kirsty Oldham, BA English Literature and French, year abroad in France

My experience at the University of Illinois was life changing. I lived and studied there for 10 months, and discovered how adaptable, independent and resilient I could be. I learnt how to thrive in a new culture, to succeed in a different academic setting and I met wonderful and welcoming people. In my studies I focused on Race and Politics in America and through this, I found my calling as a minority lawyer. I plan to return to the US to practice law upon graduation. Lelani Abey, BA American Studies and Politics, year abroad in the USA
