Our performance against New Marske was much improved. Our football was good and our attitude was good…. Well up until the last 5 minutes. We need to take the positives out of the performance; our passing, defending, general build up play and the fact that we did it for 85 minutes, something we have not been able to do so far. The negatives we have to learn from; we need to convert the chances we create, we need to stay switched on for the full 90 minutes and we need to think about the game situation…. A good example is conceding on 89 minutes and then straight from the kick off….. The ball should have gone into the opposition corner and we then box them in and see the game out. The turn out was great ( even if a few were a bit late) and it makes it hard to pick the team on the day but we have seen over the past few months why we need a squad… injuries, people working and suspensions. The lads on the side were a credit to t themselves and to the squad… no moaning, just positive and supportive… spot on fellas. We now need to take this into today’s cup game against Kader and put right the 00-5 result of a couple of weeks ago

COME ON TOWN!!!!

Today we welcome the players, officials and supporters of Kader FC for today’s game. We also extend a warm welcome to today’s match officials : Referee : T Readman Asst : P Wishart Asst: G Turnbull We hope you enjoy your visit to Northfieild and will join us in The Whitehouse after the game refreshments.

2010 / 2011 The Intermediates founded when former U18 manager and BTJFC Secretary Peter Cooper and John Swanson came together to put together an adult team for the junior section. Both agreed that the Teesside league would be a good challenge and both had the same vision, to have a team where the players from the junior section could stay with the club once they had finished their junior football. The first season proved difficult on many levels; 42 players coming and going, organising a strip and pitches and most significantly the devastating death of Peter in October 2010. Ian Murray then the U18 manager joined the management team. A difficult season saw only 1 win in29 games... but the basis of a squad to go into the next season, and true to the philosophy that Peter had held, the majority had been former Junior players. 2011 / 2012 With a core of lads from the previous season and some of Ian's former U18 lads, the season looked to be full of promise, however the step up for the new lads and trying to gel the squads together saw the season start off where it finished the previous season, winless, however the results were encouraging. Once the team had it's first win under it's belt it went on an unbeaten run of 8 games. With the odd win/draw towards the end of the season...the results did not reflect the performances. The team had now started to develop a style of it's own, playing some attractive football, the highlight of the season had to be away to Northallerton Academy 22-0 down at half time, Town outplayed Northallerton to win 33-2 playing some great football, showing great character and both starting and finishing with10 former Junior players... the foundation well and truly in place. Thanks to the hard work of Ian The team got new strips through a sponsorship agreement with RA DALTON. whose support is still much appreciated. 2012 / 2013 A more settled squad started the season playing a good style of football however a string of long term injuries to key players disrupted the season. Again the squad struggled for points and goals but the last 9 games of the season saw a more settled 2--1 win at team start to play the football it promised early on. The highlight being the 2 Lingdale the first team to defeat champions (1 of only 2 clubs to do it) The season again saw progress both on and off the pitch with the addition to the coaching staff of goalkeeping coach Peter Laverick. The squad has 25 former junior players out of the 32 signed on continuing the philosophy that the team was set up to fulfil 2013 / 2014 We start the season at a new ground, Northfield sportsdrome and now have the support of the Whitehouse Pub who provide after match refreshments and have also paid for our pitch fees‌‌ Massive thanks !!!

Over the last 3 years we have entered the Durham County Trophy and have used these games to spread the word about what BTJFC are about and to make new “friends”. This year our friendlies were against 2 teams we has played in the cup in WASHINGTON AGED PEOPLES TROPHY COXHOE UNITED 0 V 3 After an early goal from Wingate the first half was pretty even and stayed 1-0 until half time. Coxhoe struggled to get out of the blocks again in the second half and Wingate bagged another to make it 2-0. Wingate then won a penalty late on to seal the win. Final score 3-0

New Fordley 0 St Josephs 3 A trip to New Fordley in the Combination Cup was our 2nd cup game of the season with a very hard game expected . Although our hosts had a few players missing we can only play what's on the park. Ten minutes in and we got off to a great start when Damien Stevens crossed for Tony Smith to bury an unstoppable header past the keeper. That was about it from a lacklustre first half performance. Manager Mark Pae gave a half time blast to his players and rightly so. The second half was a bit better with another 2 goals coming first from another Tony Smith header then a sweet strike from leading scorer Damien Stevenson 75 mins made the result safe.
